    About the site

    The development area is a greenfield site that lies to the south eastern edge of Edinburgh.  It is located on a key arterial route into the city and out to the city bypass.  It is also well located to benefit from local amenities, greenspace and transport connections.

    The site lies adjacent to the protected landscape of the Drum Estate.  The main access into the site will be from Candlemaker’s Park.

    Our pre-construction work at The Drum is off to a great start and we are making good progress.  We would like to take this opportunity to advise the local community that from Monday 29 January 2018, we will start a programme of grouting work.  

    In order to carry out this phase of work, we will position several grouting rigs within the development area which will be visible to neighbouring properties.  Whilst completing this work we do anticipate there will be some noise disturbance, and there is likely to be an increased level of traffic in the immediate vicinity of the development.  Please be assured that we will aim to keep any inconvenience to a minimum, and the immediate local access roads to the development will be cleaned regularly throughout the process.

    We expect this phase of ground engineering to take around four months to complete, and we will continue to update the local community with our progress.
