Planning application has been approved on this development of 164 new homes at Blackwood, Caerphilly.
The development will be a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.
Taylor Wimpey will be developing an area of land approximately 0.6 miles north of Blackwood town centre abutting the A48. This site is currently unused agricultural land and is approximately 16.6 acres. This site is situated on the lower side of a Southern face in the Sirhowy Valley and lies to the West of the Sirhowy river. The A4048 runs past the site directly to the South, connecting the settlement to the heads of the Valleys Road to the North and the A472 to the South.
The site lies adjacent to the ‘Blackwood Riverside Woodlands’ Site of Importance for Nature Conservation and the Grade II Listed Maes Manor Hotel Historic Park and Garden to the North. As per the technical constraints, the site requires a viewpoint between the listed barns to the South and Maes Manor to the North to maintain the visual character.
Cwrt Sirhowy is a development of residential dwelling housing with associated gardens, landscaping, parking and roadways. This site will provide 164 new homes in Blackwood, 20% of which will be affordable homes. It will also provide a local area of play on the development, as well as an equipped local area of play.
