Why work here?

We work hard to foster a people-first, agile working environment where sustainable teams are treated, and treat one another, with respect and fairness.

We’re really proud of our make-it-happen culture where we encourage colleagues to create a real impact on the communities we work and live in. Employees contribute to a range of building, renovation and charity projects and, once a year, we hold a team charity event.

Health matters

No two employees are the same, so we try to be as flexible as possible with working hours and have a number of family-friendly policies. Some of our more popular benefits include our sizeable Home Purchase Discount Schemes, private healthcare, annual bonus and generous pension.

We want our employees to be healthy in and out of work, so we also include subsidised professional training, gym membership, a cycle scheme and regular health assessments.

Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave

We have increased our paid maternity and adoption leave provision to 13 weeks of full pay and 18 weeks of half pay.

Employees will now qualify for this benefit after just 1 year of service at the qualifying week.

With our phased return from maternity leave option, we offer a reduced working hours pattern over 4 weeks at full basic pay.

For those with over 2 years of service at the qualifying week, paternity leave is fully paid for 3 weeks. Employees with 1 year of service at the qualifying week will receive 2 weeks paternity leave at full pay.

We understand that returning to work after family leave can be a significant transition. To support you, we provide a fully paid, phased return to work after maternity leave and offer internal coaching through our parent leave returners programme.

Carers Leave

For our employees with caring responsibilities, we have introduced 5 days paid carers leave, in addition to the statutory 5 days of unpaid leave. This is available annually on a rolling 12-month basis with no service qualification required.

Real Living Wage Employer

Taylor Wimpey has been accredited as a Real Living Wage Employer. Everyone working for or providing services to Taylor Wimpey in the UK will earn a Real Living Wage, above the minimum amount set by the government from 1st April 2022.

The Real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum.

Anne Billson-Ross, Taylor Wimpey Group HR Director, said: “This voluntary commitment is a fantastic example of the direct action we are taking to ensure we remain an employer of choice, committed to do the right thing by our employees, suppliers and subcontractors.”
