New Homes Accelerator Programme supports Taylor Wimpey in accelerating new homes delivery

Hampden Fields
Taylor Wimpey plc, a leading UK homebuilder, is accelerating the delivery of new homes and vibrant communities across the country, including Hampden Fields, Comeytrowe Garden Community, and the former Wisley Airfield, with the support of the New Homes Accelerator (“NHA”) programme.

At Hampden Fields in Buckinghamshire, the NHA programme (a collaboration between the Government, Homes England, developers and local authorities) and the Environment Agency have supported Taylor Wimpey to deliver 3,000 high-quality new homes. This development will offer up to 30 percent affordable housing, two new primary schools, land for business use, excellent transport links to Aylesbury, and a vibrant mixed-use Local Centre. Residents will also benefit from care and medical facilities, extensive open spaces, sports facilities and multiple play areas, creating a well-connected and active neighbourhood.

The Comeytrowe Garden Community site in Somerset will see the delivery of 2,000 new homes, including 17.8 percent affordable housing. The development will feature a park area, business space, community allotments, and a local community centre. This is in addition to the 400 homes already being built by Taylor Wimpey and Vistry, including a public play area, care home, and Somerset’s first ever carbon-neutral primary school, which recently opened on site.

At the former Wisley Airfield, Taylor Wimpey welcomes the cooperation of statutory consultees and the NHA programme, which has assisted works to begin on the first infrastructure phase. This project will deliver three walkable new neighbourhoods of 1,730 homes, of which 40% will be affordable homes, alongside shops, sports and social facilities, a school, and a large public park. Taylor Wimpey is delighted that work on the Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace has started this month, marking a major milestone in its commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive communities.

Taylor Wimpey welcomes the support of the NHA programme to accelerate housing delivery and help address the significant unmet demand across the UK, and we look forward to working closely with Government and Homes England to address the ongoing challenges we see around planning and new development viability in particular.
