We announce our partnership with Share Alike in East Kilbride
As part of our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, we have teamed up with local community group Share Alike to confirm that it will donate £25 for each new home sold and legally completed within our first phase of new homes at our Amble Court development in Jacktonhall, East Kilbride.
Supporting the community with a donation per plot
In total a grand sum of £5,625 will be paid to Share Alike as work at the development progresses, signalling a long-term relationship between this important local community charity and Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.
Share Alike is a small community organisation run entirely by volunteers, which aims to encourage sharing and care to help alleviate poverty, loneliness, and waste. Share Alike has partnerships with local stores to collect surplus food and it also accepts donations of food, clothing, and small household items which they distribute to those in need. The money will go directly to supporting the work and services that Share Alike provides locally in East Kilbride including its crisis food service; community larder, fridge, and wardrobe; community wellbeing café with workshops, activities, and general support; as well as its baby bank and participation in the annual EK Christmas Kindness campaign.
We are extremely grateful for the support that we will receive from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. This money will be put to work locally to help us deliver our range of projects to the local community in East Kilbride. On behalf of everyone who uses our services, I would like to say a huge thank you.
Annmarie Campbell founder of Share Alike
We are delighted to be able to support Share Alike in this meaningful way. Our announcement signals the creation of a relationship with a very worthy local charity that will provide a link between the new community emerging at our Amble Court development at Jacktonhall, and the existing community of East Kilbride. Working with Share Alike is a real honour and we are extremely proud to be showing our support in this way. Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.
