building a better world

Our Sustainable Commitments

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time and we're committed to tackling it head on. We’re taking action to reduce our carbon footprint and, since 2013, we’ve cut operational carbon emissions by 57%. We have an ambitious target to reach net zero emissions across all our operations, homes and supply chains by 2045.

Our road to Net Zero

We’re taking big steps to reach net zero emissions in our operations by 2035 and across our value chain by 2045 - that’s five years before the Government's target of 2050.

For further information on how we plan to achieve these ambitious targets, take a look at our Net Zero Transition Plan.

We're building better communities

When you buy a Taylor Wimpey home, you can be safe in the knowledge that we have carefully considered every element of your new community. From local shops and schools to green spaces and parks, we want you to live in a vibrant area that has lots to offer.

We build new amenities and facilities as early as possible in the development process, so you can feel at home right away. Whether you’re joining an existing community or becoming part of a brand new one, you’ll be eager to explore and we ensure our sites are well connected with the surrounding areas.

We also recognise the importance of giving back to the communities in which we build. In 2025, we invested £359 million in local communities to fund improvements and build new facilities, creating places where people want to live.

We're reducing our waste

We’re committed to reducing waste from our building sites. Since 2019, we’ve reduced construction waste by 14% through the introduction of measures including:

  • Pallet recycling. 132,000 pallets were picked up from our sites in 2024 and 47% of these were sent for reuse
  • Paint pot recycling. In 2024, 62,000 paint pots were returned from our sites for recycling, helping to reduce waste to landfill
  • Waste wood recycling. Through our partnership with Community Wood Recycling, 1,809 tonnes of waste wood was collected from our developments in 2024. Of this, 38% was reused, 54% was recycled into woodchip and 8% was processed into firewood. This avoided 901 tonnes of CO2, supported paid jobs for around 20 people and training for 30

We’re also working with our suppliers to significantly reduce the plastic packaging on our sites and launch schemes that will encourage our customers to increase the amount that they recycle at home.
