Couple buy dream house together at The Orangery

Dan (45), a self-employed Coach, Trainer and Facilitator, and his husband, Daniel (35), a Hair Colourist and Hairdresser, have taken the next step in their relationship in buying a home together after Daniel moved to the UK from Canada.

A peace of mind

The couple moved into their new home at The Orangery in Droylsden in December 2023, they moved from Dan’s 12-year-old town-house in Beswick. When asked why Dan wanted to purchase a new build again, he said: “New build homes come with the NHBC warranty as well as being more energy efficient. They are also move-in ready, so there is less ongoing maintenance.”

The couple purchased their home using our Easymover scheme, which allows homebuyers to reserve their new home while we help to manage the sale of their old one. We’ll use our expert marketing and negotiation skills to sell the previous home quickly and will also handle estate agents and help to cover the estate agent fees*.

The Braxton

Since moving in, Dan shared his thoughts on the development and the local area and said: “The Orangery is quiet, with lovely looking houses and is right next to the canal. We see parents and children actively picking up litter and taking pride in where they live.

“We’re also very close to public transport and motorways so have good transport links to the city centre. Being so close to the tram stop is perfect for getting to work. We also have local supermarkets, eateries, and quick access to other transport links which is super convenient.”

They chose The Braxton house type due to its similarity to Dan’s previous home in Beswick. When asked what else they like about the Braxton, Dan said: “As I work from home, it is important for me to have a home office while having a decent size spare bedroom for guests, so The Braxton’s three bedrooms is ideal for us. The master bedroom on the top floor is also so big and light - it’s a very calm and relaxing space.

“The utility room is also perfect for keeping things out of the way and the storage under the stairs is handy for storing our bikes, rather than keeping them in the shed.”
