First time buyers celebrate being the first to move to our Newton Park development

We welcomed the very first homeowners to our Newton Park at Hadley Chase development in Sleaford

Keys to a dream home

First time buyers Cerys Mercer-Gregory, 26, and her fiance Liam, 25, were already living in the local area when they started their search for their home together.

Cerys said: “We had already viewed a few developments by different companies when we saw Newton Park advertised on Facebook. We knew Taylor Wimpey was a reputable company, and we liked the style of the houses, so we decided to go to their open day event to find out more information.”

The couple knew exactly what they wanted from their first home together and found the perfect property with the spacious two bedroom Canford. Cerys continues: “We want to start a family in the future and the Canford offers plenty of room for the first few years at least. We love every room in the house; we have an open plan living room and dining room, and the kitchen is light and airy. The bedrooms are roomy which allows for plenty of storage and the bathroom is beautiful, with a bath to relax in after a long day. We also enjoy sitting out in the large garden which has good sunlight coverage from lunchtime until evening.”

Newton Park Case Study

Speaking on the benefits of buying a new build home, Liam said: “We loved being able to personalise our own home; we wanted a modern home with modern features and be able to personalise every aspect. If we looked at existing houses, then we would have to spend extra money having to modernise and redecorate. With the cost of living crisis also, it is very important to have an energy efficient home and compared to the rented property  we had been living in, our bills have decreased by huge amounts.”

Now settled into life at Newton Park, Cerys and Liam are enjoying being part of the growing community there. The couple said: “It was an experience being the first ones to move into Newton Park. It’s nice to see the different stages of the building going on and seeing more and more people move into their new homes.

Speaking on their buying experience with Taylor Wimpey, Cerys and Liam said: “Everyone warned us that buying a house is one of the most stressful things to encounter, however, I’m glad to say we found it completely the opposite. From our first appointment to our last, we had all the information given to us clearly. We had never bought a home before, so we were not familiar with many aspects of the process. Roxy at Taylor Wimpey was very patient with us and talked us through the whole process.

“Overall, it couldn’t have been easier. We had a phone consultation, a physical meeting where we reserved the property, and next thing you know, we were exchanging contracts and moving into our new home.”

When asked whether they would recommend Taylor Wimpey, the couple conclude: “I would recommend buying a new build to anyone, especially buying one from Taylor Wimpey. The staff have been incredible and we were supported through the whole process; even after we moved in, nothing has been too much trouble. Roxy was so friendly and it didn’t feel like a transaction of buying a house, she became a good friend and is an absolute credit to the company. Roberto the site manager is so cheerful and genuinely shows that he loves what he does, and has really supported us with any issue in the home.”
