- The development will be sensitively landscaped to protect local wildlife and enhance biodiversity. A 10% biodiversity net gain will be achieved through additional on-site planting and on the wider Arbury Estate land. Landscaping will also be enhanced to support breeding birds.
- Almost all existing trees and hedgerows will be retained. Furthermore, we will provide bee bricks, bird boxes, bug hotels, great crested newt viaducts and hedgehog highways. We will introduce new residents to nature friendly gardening and distribute home welcome packs that include wildflower seeds to all purchasers.
- Ecologists will translocate any great crested newts to one of the existing ponds to ensure they are protected from harm and check for bats prior to the demolition of the farmhouse. The development will be sensitively lit to ensure foraging opportunities for bats are protected in the future.
- Bedworth Flash Meadow Local Wildlife Site (LWS) falls within the development and The Nook LWS sits directly adjacent. These areas have been retained and incorporated into the design.
