Welcome to Brantham
There is a real sense of community at Stour VIewNewly-weds find perfect home at Stour View
Newly married couple Jamie and Emily Ranson, decided it was time to invest in a property they could find sanctuary in.
Their search led them to Taylor Wimpey's Stour View development in Brantham, where they found their perfect home."We moved from Colchester and decided to move to Stour View because we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of a city." said Emily.
"Although we work in Colchester, we love being able to leave work and come home to our peaceful haven," Emily said.
She also said, "We opted for the Gosford, which is a three-bedroom semi-detached house, because we love how much space it gives us. We have two cats and a house rabbit, and it’s chaotic at the best of times! The Gosford gives us more than enough space to live comfortably, and is also great for hosting." Emily added, “We chose a new build property because our previous coach house needed a lot of work done when we first moved in, and we felt like it impeded our enjoyment of the property. A new build was a no-brainer after this experience. It’s fantastic having a blank canvas to project your personality onto.”
The couple has several favourite features in their new home. Emily stated, "Our favourite thing about coming home is being able to relax outside in our garden. The neighbourhood is so peaceful and we’ve attracted so much wildlife in the four months that we’ve been here. We are both keen gardeners, and it’s fantastic to be able to enjoy such a lovely outside space. Our borders and planters are flourishing, and we’ve even had enough space for a vegetable patch!”
The buying process with Taylor Wimpey was smooth from start to finish for Jamie and Emily. "Our buying journey with Taylor Wimpey was absolutely fantastic. The level of quality and skill each employee has shown throughout our whole journey has been outstanding."
Now settled into their new Taylor Wimpey home, the couple couldn't be happier with their decision. Emily said, “Having recently got married, buying a more permanent home was the first thing on our agenda. We put our previous house on the market whilst on our honeymoon as we were so eager to get sold and move to Stour View. We both can’t wait to have many more happy years in our new family home.”
When asked about the couple’s favourite part of the development, Emily said: “Stour View is in such a wonderful location, and we love having Decoy Pond so close by. All of the residents are very friendly and it’s such a lovely environment to live in. There’s a great local pub within walking distance, as well as a convenience store. Manningtree is just over the river and has some fantastic shops, restaurants and pubs. Also the station is within walking distance of our house which is so convenient.”
Jamie and Emily Ranson secured their dream home with help from Taylor Wimpey through Easymover. Through this, couples like the Ranson’s are able to provisionally reserve your new Taylor Wimpey property whilst we help you manage the sale of your old home.
Stour View currently has a selection of three to five-bedroom sustainable homes available from £335,000, built to modern energy standards, offering smart heating, insulation and lower emissions. Based in the picturesque Suffolk countryside with Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural beauty on your doorstep, Stour View is the perfect place to call home for those nature-loving families. This peaceful village is well connected to nearby towns and cities, including those who commute to London.
Luke and Simone find the perfect home in The Braxton
After studying in London and living in rented accommodation, the Covid-19 pandemic prompted them to seek a new lifestyle. They moved to Colchester to be closer to family, enjoy more outdoor space, and save for their first home.
"In May of 2023 and after not really being inspired by the houses on the market, Luke suggested that we should check out the local new build sites," Symone explained. The Brantham site stood out due to its scenic setting and convenient commuting connections. "We were immediately impressed by the development's peaceful environment and abundant green spaces." They added.
Initially, they hadn't considered a new build. Luke shared, "I know that sometimes there are a lot of unforeseen costs when buying a house, ranging from rewiring to getting the roof repaired, or just not liking the kitchen you have inherited. We figured why not buy a new build that comes with guarantees and the option of picking the style of your kitchen and bathrooms."
To their surprise, they discovered that they could afford a new build with numerous personalisations much sooner than expected. "Once this was the case, I think our minds were made up rather quickly. Dawn and Chris, the sales representatives, were instrumental in guiding us through the process as first-time buyers. Even though some properties weren't ready for viewing, the team arranged appointments at other nearby developments that suited our schedule, making the process seamless." Symone said.
They were initially considering a three-bedroom house, either The Easedale or The Braxton. "Once viewing The Braxton and seeing the size of the bedrooms, we were convinced," they said.
"The Braxton is just perfect for us. It's a spacious three-storey home that strikes a great balance between social areas and private retreats, which is exactly what we need."
The open-plan kitchen is so inviting for meals and chats, and we love having a separate living room for cosy movie nights. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom, perfect for guests. And the main bedroom on the top floor is like a calm, light-filled sanctuary – it's just what we were looking for in a primary suite. This layout means we can each have our own space to work, relax, and unwind. The Braxton really ticks all the boxes for us," they added enthusiastically.
Settling into their new home has been a joy. "We are loving life in our new home. It has been easy to settle into a new rhythm, and our two dogs love their new walking route around the pond," they shared. They also appreciate the diverse and friendly community of families, couples, and retirees, which enhances the sense of belonging.
Reflecting on their experience, they expressed their gratitude: "Overall, buying with Taylor Wimpey has really been such a positive experience, especially as first-time buyers in this economy. Anything that we weren't sure on, or any legal jargon that was overwhelming, was explained to us with patience, leading us to be confident in all of our choices."
Luke and Symone look forward to many happy years in their new home at Stour View. "We plan on living in this house for a very long time and thank everyone on the team who have made this move so easy," they concluded.
Their journey with Taylor Wimpey has been a remarkable step toward their dream life, offering them the perfect home and a vibrant community to be a part of.
