Our South East team are celebrating after receiving a ‘highly commended’ accolade at the Canterbury Society Design Awards for their Legacy Park scheme.
Organised by the Canterbury Society, the awards look to celebrate buildings, spaces and places that add value to the local community.
The 11-acre Legacy Park has been developed as part of the Royal Parade scheme, which is now open to residents as well as the wider community. The park benefits from stunning views across the city towards Canterbury Cathedral and has a number of paths and trails, all surrounded by natural habitats designed specifically for wildlife, such as dormice and other indigenous species.
Joanna Webb, Senior Land & Planning Manager, said: “We are very proud to have been awarded a ‘highly commended’ accolade for our work at Legacy Park. The team has worked incredibly hard to make our vision a reality and it’s fantastic to be recognised with this award.
“It was great to hear feedback from the judges, as they were particularly pleased to see a new parkland of this scale - the first in the district for many decades.
“We do so much more than just build homes - we’re always striving to design inspiring spaces and create a sense of place that local communities can be proud of. Well done to everyone who was involved in this project.”
