Abbey Grange site manager ranked among UK’s top 6% after national awards win
Jamie Wood, Senior Site Manager at Abbey Grange, has been named among the best in the UK after winning a prestigious Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Award from the National House-Building Council (NHBC) for the fourth time.Jamie has been recognised for his outstanding work at Abbey Grange and for his commitment to excellence in site management and build quality.
The award places Jamie in the top six per cent of site managers nationwide, with just 450 winners selected from thousands of entrants across 7,500 sites.

Jamie said: “This is my 4th Pride in the Job Award and the most important one for me and my team so far. To be within the top 6% of Site managers within the UK is fantastic. This is down to the sheer hard work from me and all my site team.”
Phil Hooper, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We are committed to consistently delivering high-quality homes and excellent customer service, and this recognition reflects those standards. This is a fantastic achievement for Jamie and we’re very proud of the team at Abbey Grange.”
Cassandra Codling, Senior Regional Director at NHBC said: “Congratulations to Jamie who has demonstrated incredible dedication, passion, commitment and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality. The judges look for site managers who go beyond strong performance and demonstrate qualities that lift a good site manager to an exceptional one.
“The competition is at the heart of NHBC’s core purpose to raise standards in house building. It inspires site managers to make their mark on the industry, earning the respect of their peers and leaving a legacy of homes built to the highest quality standards.”

We award Evesham Defibrillators with £500 prize
Evesham Defibrillators has been awarded £500 after being announced as the winner of our Community Chest competition to celebrate the launch of Abbey Grange.Residents living in Evesham and the surrounding areas were invited to nominate local good causes. Once all of the entries were considered, we awarded Evesham Defibrillators with the top prize.
Evesham Defibrillators is a local community project aimed at reducing Evesham’s mortality rate in the event of a cardiac arrest by installing and maintaining Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) around the town. To date, the charity has installed 36 defibrillators outside local businesses, on streets, and in housing estates.
Our £500 donation will go towards a cabinet to house one of the charity’s defibrillators to keep it protected when not in use.
Kerry Wood at Evesham Defibrillators, said: “The Evesham Defibrillators team were so humbled to find out we had been chosen as the winners of Taylor Wimpey’s Community Chest competition.
“The money we will receive will make a huge difference. Each defibrillator and cabinet costs us £1,100, not including the costs of the ongoing maintenance. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate Evesham Defibrillators - you are all lifesavers.”
Matthew Kendall, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We are delighted to have supported Evesham Defibrillators in their project to install and maintain as many life-saving defibrillators across Evesham as possible. In the event of a cardiac arrest, time is of the essence and having access to a nearby AED could be essential for saving a person’s life.”

We sponsor the Battle of Evesham Festival
We were a main event sponsor of The Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival, with a £1,500 donation to the event, which took place from 1st August to 3rd August on the Crown and Corporation Meadows, Evesham. The festival features Europe’s largest 13th-century battle reenactment. This year’s event marked the 760th anniversary of the Battle of Evesham, which took place in 1265 and is recognised as a pivotal moment in England’s political history.
Over the weekend, around 60,000 visitors enjoyed a grand parade, 150 artisan craft and authentic trade stalls, more than 30 food and drink traders, medieval music and dance performances, and a fashion show. The festival also featured two large living history camps, where re-enactors showcased aspects of 13th-century life such as wood turning, metalwork, needlework, and medieval cooking. A new Presentation Pavilion also hosted academic book talks and live music throughout the weekend.
Mick Hurst, Festival Founder and Director, said: “It was an epic three days, with thousands of happy families enjoying full-on medieval mayhem. I would like to thank our team of 80 wonderful volunteers, the 800-plus re-enactors who travelled from far and wide to take part, the traders, councils and sponsors, including Taylor Wimpey. Every one of them played an important role in making sure the event ran smoothly, and many memories were made. Planning for 2026 has already started – it’s going to be awesome!”
Matthew Kendall, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We are delighted to have supported this famous Evesham event as a main sponsor. Events such as these are not only fantastic for bringing the community together, but also for educating people about a significant historical event that shaped our country.”
