Maidenhead named one of the happiest places to retire to in the UK.
We’re delighted to share that Maidenhead, home to our Harvest Hill development, has been named as one of the happiest and healthiest places to retire to in the UK.The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire led the rankings compiled by Health Connect Global for The Sunday Times.
The research considered six key factors across local authorities in England including average life expectancy, GP provision, A&E wait times, the referral period for trauma and orthopaedic services, number of care home beds and a location’s ranking in the ONS (Office for National Statistics) happiness index.
Harvest Hill, on Harvest Hill Road, is designed to create a sense of community for our residents whilst still providing excellent links to London and Heathrow Airport for frequent commuters.
Sarah Pasco, our Sales and Marketing Director said: “We’re so pleased to hear that Maidenhead has been ranked as one of the healthiest and happiest places to retire to in the UK. The borough has plenty to offer and we can’t wait to welcome more residents as our Harvest Hill development progresses.”
We help Maidenhead school hit digital learning target with donation
We donated £250 to St Nicolas’ School to help fund new iPads and cases for pupils’ digital learning and skill development, and for those in need of additional support. The donation was made in response to local parent and volunteer Sophie Crisp, a working mum of two who is an active member of the school’s PTA, a registered charity.
Sophie said: “We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for the support, we really appreciate the donation. It's so important that our pupils have the equipment and resources needed to perform well at school and this £250 means we have hit our target to buy the iPads and cases needed for students with special needs at St Nicholas’ School.
Sarah Pasco, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “We are delighted to support St Nicolas’ School in improving access to digital learning tools. At Taylor Wimpey, we are proud to invest in the communities around our developments, we’re proud to help enhance the educational experience for local children.”
Sustainability
We are committed to a sustainability-led approach when it comes to the design and development of the scheme. Each of the homes will include a range of energy efficiency measures, including high quality building fabric, PV panels and Air Source Heat Pumps. The entire development is being built to "Future Homes’"standards, which will ensure that each plot will produce 75-80% less carbon emissions than homes built under the current Building Regulations. Each homeowner will also have their own Electric Vehicle Charging Point (EVCP), with apartment owners having access to shared charging points that will be located around the development. Safe and secure cycle parking will also be provided for keen cyclists and those looking to enjoy the outdoor spaces at the development.Local Investment
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we invest in building communities that support local businesses, improve facilities in the area and help bring people together.
