Welcome to Wellington Place, where even our furry friends are part of the family!Supporting the local community
The Village in Market Harborough has been awarded £500 from our East Midlands team after being announced as the winner of their Community Chest competition.
Residents living in Market Harborough and the surrounding local area were invited to nominate local good causes. Once all of the entries were considered, we awarded The Village with the top prize.
Set up in February 2020, The Village (previously the Eco Village) is a community initiative providing affordable food, a base for the Market Harborough Fixers, pay-it-forward initiatives and a hub for local independent businesses.
In September 2022, The Village launched its Community Fridge which has so far saved over three tonnes of food from landfill and provided a vital service for many local families in need.

Finding the perfect place to call home at Wellington Place
After 25 years living in North Wales, Wendy Clark (59) decided it was time for a fresh start. Wanting to be closer to her son Matthew and sisters, she moved to Market Harborough and discovered her perfect new home at Wellington Place.Wendy said: “When I first visited Wellington Place, I was immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere. The layout, green spaces, and strong sense of community made a great first impression and gave me confidence it would be a lovely place to live.”
Wendy chose The Braxton, a stylish three-bedroom home, for its thoughtful design and modern layout. She explained: “I loved how light and open it feels downstairs – it’s perfect for socialising – while the bedrooms upstairs offer privacy and comfort. The home makes the most of every bit of space, and it immediately felt like somewhere I could truly settle in.
Since moving in, Wendy has added her own personal touches, including a small greenhouse for growing fruit and vegetables. She said: “I love gardening, so having both indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy has been wonderful. The Braxton perfectly suits my lifestyle – it provides a calm space to work from home in my studio, while still feeling bright and welcoming once the working day is done.”
For Wendy, choosing a new build provided both reassurance and convenience. She explained: “I wanted a home that was energy efficient, easy to maintain, and built to modern standards. Knowing it was brand new and under warranty gave me real peace of mind. The Taylor Wimpey team were friendly, helpful, and quick to resolve any minor issues – I couldn’t have asked for better service.”
Now happily settled, Wendy has found a real sense of belonging at Wellington Place. She added: “My neighbours are all lovely – we’ve even set up a WhatsApp group to look out for each other. It already feels safe, welcoming, and supportive, and the local amenities make everyday life so easy.”
Reflecting on her move, Wendy couldn’t be happier with her decision. She concluded: “I’m thrilled with my new Braxton home and so pleased I chose Wellington Place. It feels like the perfect move for me, and I’m really looking forward to the years ahead here.”

We teach pupils from Wellington Place Primary School about health and safety
Pupils from Wellington Place Primary School received an important lesson in how to stay safe around a building site during a visit from our team at Wellington Place.Cressida Knox, Headteacher at Wellington Place Primary School, said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for speaking to our pupils on this important topic. It was a highly informative visit, and the children now have a much clearer understanding of the risks involved with construction sites and how to stay safe.”
Ollie Machell, Production Manager at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “Children can be curious about activity on a building site so it’s vital that they understand the potential risks and how to keep themselves safe. The pupils at Wellington Place Primary School were brilliant and I hope our talk provided them with an important lesson in site safety.”
