Inspiring Warrington pupils to explore future careers
Nine Taylor Wimpey North West employees took part in a Magic Breakfast ‘Aspiration Day’ at St Ann’s Primary School in Warrington.Year 6 pupils took part in a ‘speed networking’ session, asking questions about job roles, career journeys and day-to-day working life.
The format gave pupils the chance to hear directly from professionals across a range of roles, helping to bring different career paths to life in an engaging way.
The session helped pupils build confidence, broaden their understanding of the workplace, particularly opportunities within the construction sector.
Adam Layhe, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: "It was great to speak with such engaged pupils, it’s a great initiative to help young people start thinking about their futures and explore the different opportunities available to them.”
Liz Grumbley at St Ann’s Primary School, said: “It was fantastic to welcome the Taylor Wimpey team into the school for this year’s Aspiration Day. Opportunities like this give children valuable insight into a wide range of careers they may not have previously considered.”

We bring Halloween magic with community celebration
Following the success of our popular Easter event earlier this year, we once again brought the community together with a spellbinding Halloween celebration in Whiston. On Saturday 25 October, the free event welcomed families and residents to enjoy an afternoon of spooky fun and seasonal festivities. Children took part in themed games hosted by costumed mascots, while families explored the development and soaked up the festive atmosphere. The event was filled with excitement, as neighbours of all ages came together to enjoy the half-term weekend. Guests tucked into sweet treats and hot food from local caterers, while little ones enjoyed Halloween makeovers with face painting and glitter art, adding to the festive spirit. A cosy gazebo provided a warm and welcoming hub where neighbours could relax, chat, and take part in the activities together.
This latest community event builds on our ongoing commitment to creating not just homes, but thriving neighbourhoods where residents feel connected and supported all year round Lucy Houlihan, Marketing Manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “It’s always wonderful to see our residents and their families come together to celebrate the seasons and enjoy the fantastic community we’re building here. “Events like this really capture what Fox Wood Garden Village is all about, bringing people together and creating a real sense of community. It’s been lovely to see so many families enjoying the day and getting to know their neighbours
We mark ongoing support for Knowsley Flower Show a third year in a row
We are continuing our support for Knowsley Flower Show for the third consecutive year with a £1,000 donation, helping to celebrate the annual community event. This year’s Knowsley Flower Show, taking place on Sunday the 3rd of August, marks the event’s 27th year.
We are delighted to once again support the council-led event, this time as sponsor of the Healthy Lifestyles and Environments Zone, a key feature of the show that promotes wellbeing, sustainability, and greener living.
To mark the occasion, Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods at Knowsley Council, paid a visit to our Fox Wood Garden Village development in Whiston. During the visit, Cllr Powell met with members of the sales team and was given a tour of the site, including the newly created green open spaces that echo the community spirit celebrated at the show.
Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods said: “The Knowsley Flower Show is one of the longest standing and biggest cultural events to happen in the borough. Thousands of people attend the show each year and it’s important to us that this event remains free of charge so as many people as possible can be a part of it. We couldn’t do that without the support of fantastic companies like Taylor Wimpey providing support and sponsorship year after year.”
Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Knowsley Flower Show for the third year running. It’s a fantastic celebration of local creativity, community and green living, which are values that align closely with what we’re building at Fox Wood Garden Village. We’re proud to support an event that brings people together across the community.”

Merseyside pupils help Taylor Wimpey mark World Kindness Day with caring acts
School pupils around Knowsley and St Helens have been doing their bit to make their community a kinder place after taking up our challenge to mark World Kindness Day.
World Kindness Day is celebrated across the world on 13th November every year. It was introduced by the World Kindness Movement in 1998 as part of their mission to create a kinder world.
We proudly supported this mission by encouraging our staff, as well as people living in and around our developments, to show kindness to their neighbours.
We also asked pupils from schools across the region to take part by carrying out small acts of kindness. In St Helens, Sutton Oak Cof E Primary School and Sherdley Primary School took up the challenge and pupils came up with a range of inspiring ways to support their community.
Our Lady's Catholic Primary School in Prescot and St Leo's and Southmead Catholic Primary School in Whiston also took part.
Among the acts of kindness the children carried out were:
Sutton Oak CofE Primary School
An amazing 30 pupils took part in the competition, each drawing a picture of a kind act;
-
Tomi (year 4) drew a picture for her mum to tell her she was the ‘best mum in the world’
-
Joshua (year 5) showed himself making a friend laugh with a joke
-
Logan, Harper and Freya (year 4) drew pictures of them helping their parents to do the dishes
-
Alex (year 5) told a story of all the kind things he’d done in a day
Sherdley Primary School
-
Jake (year 2) picked up litter in New Bold, joining the efforts of his local litter picking group the Moss Fairy Crew
-
Kane (year 2), Luca (pre-school) and Theo (year 3) helped family members with work in the house and garden
-
Mollie (year 3) helped to look after her two-year-old cousin Esme so her auntie could get on with some housework
-
Archie (year 2) helped his mum look after their rabbit Coco, took flowers to his poorly neighbour to cheer her up, and helped his grandad to wash his car
Our Lady's Catholic Primary School
-
Ava (year 5) made a ‘Get well soon’ card and delivered it to Whiston Hospital for the patients
-
Caleb (year 5) donated to his local foodbank. He said: “Donating this food makes me realise how lucky I am.”
-
Entela (year 5) took pound coins from her piggy bank to give to homeless people in Liverpool, and also helped her neighbour with her walking aid
-
Lucy (year 5) helped to cook her brother’s favourite shepherd’s pie for his tea to make him feel better because he had chicken pox
St Leo's and Southmead Catholic Primary School
-
Several pupils wrote poems and created posters about what being kind means, including Ariana, Ava, Heloise, Olivia and Safia
-
Reggie helped his dad wash the car and his mum wash the dishes
-
Max helped his friend Rufus up after he fell over while playing hockey
-
Levinieh asked God to help her and others to show kindness
As a thank you, all four schools will receive a £250 donation to help fund new equipment and treats for the classes that took part, and we will present the pupils with a certificate to recognise their kind acts.
Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We were excited to see what the pupils in St Helens and Prescot did to mark World Kindness Day and we certainly weren’t disappointed. They showed such a range of kind and caring behaviour and it’s clear that our future is in good hands with these youngsters. Thank you to everyone who took part.”
Angela Tambourini, Headteacher at St Leo’s and Southmead Catholic Primary School, said: “Taking part in the Taylor Wimpey ‘acts of kindness’ challenge really brought home to our children the importance of living out our school gospel values. Learning how our children are being kind not only in school but in their community was very humbling for us and highlighted just how important it is to be the very best version of ourselves.”
