Taylor Wimpey Site Manager scoops prestigious award
Taylor Wimpey Site Manager Neil Gregory are celebrating after each winning a Pride in the Job 2025 Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC), recognising his outstanding work at Anderton Green in St Helens.“It’s an honour to have received a Quality Award from the NHBC,” Jordan said. “The whole team at Sherdley Green are really collaborative and work really well together, so I’m delighted that our efforts have been recognised. For me, being acknowledged as one of the top site managers not only in the local area, but across the UK, is a true career highlight and something I’m extremely proud of.”
Neil, who joined Taylor Wimpey almost three years ago, has quickly made his mark by creating a site culture focused on consistency and teamwork. Having progressed from Assistant Site Manager to Site Manager in just a few years, he has led the Anderton Green team to their first award-winning year.
“I have been a Site Manager now for almost three years, and I am so proud to have won the Pride in the Job award,” Neil said. “It is nice to see the team’s dedication and work ethic has paid off, having worked together now for over two years. This award really shows what can be achieved when you have the right people around you.”
The Pride in the Job Awards, now in their 45th year, are considered the gold standard in UK housebuilding. More than 8,000 sites were judged through surprise inspections, with only 450 site managers nationwide receiving the coveted Quality Award – placing both Jordan and Neil in the top 5% of site managers in the country.
Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We have always been committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service, and our continued recognition as an NHBC award-winning homebuilder reflects that dedication. This award is thoroughly deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of Neil and his team Anderton Green.”
Neil will now go forward for consideration in the next stage of the competition, with the Seal of Excellence and Regional Award winners set to be announced in the autumn.
Taylor Wimpey is an industry leader in build quality and has been awarded a 5 star rating for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation (HBF). Find out more at https://www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/why-choose-us/our-quality-assurance

Merseyside pupils help Taylor Wimpey mark World Kindness Day with caring acts
School pupils around Knowsley and St Helens have been doing their bit to make their community a kinder place after taking up our challenge to mark World Kindness Day.
World Kindness Day is celebrated across the world on 13th November every year. It was introduced by the World Kindness Movement in 1998 as part of their mission to create a kinder world.
We proudly supported this mission by encouraging our staff, as well as people living in and around our developments, to show kindness to their neighbours.
We also asked pupils from schools across the region to take part by carrying out small acts of kindness. In St Helens, Sutton Oak Cof E Primary School and Sherdley Primary School took up the challenge and pupils came up with a range of inspiring ways to support their community.
Our Lady's Catholic Primary School in Prescot and St Leo's and Southmead Catholic Primary School in Whiston also took part.
Among the acts of kindness the children carried out were:
Sutton Oak CofE Primary School
An amazing 30 pupils took part in the competition, each drawing a picture of a kind act;
-
Tomi (year 4) drew a picture for her mum to tell her she was the ‘best mum in the world’
-
Joshua (year 5) showed himself making a friend laugh with a joke
-
Logan, Harper and Freya (year 4) drew pictures of them helping their parents to do the dishes
-
Alex (year 5) told a story of all the kind things he’d done in a day

Jake (year 2)picked up litter in New Bold, joining the efforts of his local litter picking group the Moss Fairy Crew
-
Kane (year 2), Luca (pre-school) and Theo (year 3) helped family members with work in the house and garden
-
Mollie (year 3) helped to look after her two-year-old cousin Esme so her auntie could get on with some housework
-
Archie (year 2) helped his mum look after their rabbit Coco, took flowers to his poorly neighbour to cheer her up, and helped his grandad to wash his car
Our Lady's Catholic Primary School
-
Ava (year 5) made a ‘Get well soon’ card and delivered it to Whiston Hospital for the patients
-
Caleb (year 5) donated to his local foodbank. He said: “Donating this food makes me realise how lucky I am.”
-
Entela (year 5) took pound coins from her piggy bank to give to homeless people in Liverpool, and also helped her neighbour with her walking aid
-
Lucy (year 5) helped to cook her brother’s favourite shepherd’s pie for his tea to make him feel better because he had chicken pox
St Leo's and Southmead Catholic Primary School
-
Several pupils wrote poems and created posters about what being kind means, including Ariana, Ava, Heloise, Olivia and Safia
-
Reggie helped his dad wash the car and his mum wash the dishes
-
Max helped his friend Rufus up after he fell over while playing hockey
-
Levinieh asked God to help her and others to show kindness
As a thank you, all four schools will receive a £250 donation to help fund new equipment and treats for the classes that took part, and we will present the pupils with a certificate to recognise their kind acts.
Jennifer Burns, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We were excited to see what the pupils in St Helens and Prescot did to mark World Kindness Day and we certainly weren’t disappointed. They showed such a range of kind and caring behaviour and it’s clear that our future is in good hands with these youngsters. Thank you to everyone who took part.”
Delvyan Affleck, Teacher at Sutton Oak CE Primary School, said: “It was a great honour to have taken part in Taylor Wimpey North West’s acts of kindness challenge, because it really made us think about how we act towards others, how we can make a difference to others and how we can simply make someone’s day brighter due to our own actions.”
We help young St Helens rugby players with £500 donation
We donated £500 to Thatto Heath Crusaders rugby club to fund a new kit for their under-16s girls team.
The well-respected club has been a pillar of the St Helens community for the past few years and provides children and young adults in the area with the opportunity to learn valuable life skills through teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
Danny Woods, coach at Thatto Heath Crusaders, said: “We are extremely grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s generous donation as the new kits not only provide practical benefits, but they also instil a sense of pride and identity within the team.”
