Sophie Sandhu, Year 4 Class Teacher at Cherry Orchard Primary School, said: “The children at Cherry Orchard Primary were thrilled to be asked to write Christmas cards for Wombwell Hall care home. A lot of the children haven't been able to spend time with their grandparents over the last year so this really meant a lot to them. We hope the residents enjoyed the handmade cards and messages inside from our lovely students!”

Tarnia Harrison, Home Manager at Wombwell Hall, said: “The residents were so grateful for the cards and thought the children did an amazing job. The beautiful pictures drawn depicting Christmas have had an amazing effect on the residents, they are still enjoying and discussing them today. A massive thank you to the teachers for supporting the children to ensure this happened and to the children for giving their time and effort to make such wonderful cards, but more importantly for making so many of our residents so very happy.”

Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “It has been a really tough year for residents in care homes who have not been able to see their loved ones, so we thought the Christmas cards would be a great way to lift their spirits. It’s heartwarming to hear that the residents were over the moon with their cards, so we’d like to thank the pupils at Cherry Orchard Primary School for their hard work.”
