Community group Bonnie Bishopton receives a helping hand from us

As part of our ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, our site team at Dargavel Village in Bishopton answered an appeal from a newly-formed community group called Bonnie Bishopton for some help.

Supporting where we build

Set-up to plant and maintain the open areas within the village, this new community group needed a donation of soil for their project, as well as a supply of high-viz vests to keep its volunteers safe and visible while they work.

The generous team at our Dargavel Village development stepped in to deliver 80 tonnes of soil and provide a supply of branded high-viz vests.

The soil has been used to backfill a large area at the centre of the village near the Community Centre; and the group are now proudly wearing their new high-viz vests while out working in the community.

Supporting our local community

Commenting on the support that it has received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, Roy Cox, Chair of Bonnie Bishopton said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey, and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation of soil. In fact, I would like to pay particular thanks to the team who delivered the soil because this made a very difficult job much easier for us.

“Since setting up the group, our first project was to clear an area at the centre of the village at the community centre which was waist high in weeds. Once cleared, we were left with a sunken area of poor soil, and it would have been very difficult, in fact impossible, for us to plant anything without the donation of soil from Taylor Wimpey."
