Creativity and community spirit
We recently challenged the children to come up with a vibrant and imaginative flag that represents the surroundings of the development, aiming to foster a sense of belonging among residents of the new community.
In the end it was 12-year-old Lucy Belle Sambor’s design that took top prize, a creatively-designed flag showcasing the Fox Wood Garden Village homes and the neighbouring green spaces.
The flag is now flying over the development and Lucy recently paid a visit to receive her prize of a £50 voucher and view the flag at full mast.
Elaine Knowesley, head teacher at St Leo's and Southmead Catholic Primary School, said: “We are grateful to Taylor Wimpey for hosting the fun flag design competition for the pupils as it not only provided a platform for them to showcase their artistic abilities, but it has also fostered a sense of unity and creativity among them. ”
