Anglo-Saxon settlement discovered in Ely

The finds, dating to around the time of Etheldreda, an East Anglian princess, were made during archaeological investigations ahead of the development of the site by Taylor Wimpey as part of its Willow Grange development in 2006.

Following the completion of excavations, archaeologists have been working with our East Anglia team to undertake the essential post-excavation analysis of all the archaeological evidence and artefacts found on site. This detailed work will allow the story of the Anglo-Saxon settlement at Ely to be told to its fullest.
