A vibrant new community in the heart of Leyton

In the heart of the Leyton community, Coronation Square will be providing 750 new homes, with fifty per cent of them being affordable, responding to Waltham Forest’s housing need.

This development will also include a District Heating Network, a new health hub, a pre-school nursery, and an enhanced indoor sports and leisure centre with various other community facilities.

The apartments and houses will surround a vibrant market square, which will host a wide range of public events and activities becoming a distinctive local focal point, serving existing and emerging neighbourhoods and linking to wider cycle and pedestrian networks to the city.

Waltham Forest resident Boyan is moving into his first home at Coronation Square after living in East London for two and a half years. One of his main reasons for choosing the development was the location.

He said: “The whole of East London is expanding and the upcoming area in my opinion is Leyton, because of the construction that’s happening at the moment.

“The Tube station is five to seven minutes away from my new flat – you’ve got all the restaurants, new shops, and international shops too which really helps me.”

Councillor Ahsan Khan, Deputy Leader for Waltham Forest Council and Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration, recently visited Coronation Square to view the new homes.

He said: “Seeing the new homes at Coronation Square and meeting residents who are moving in soon shows that this will be an amazing place and a catalyst for much needed growth in this part of the borough.

“Not only is Coronation Square providing excellent, energy efficient and affordable housing for Waltham Forest residents, but it’s also creating great work opportunities for local people.”
