Nature friendly gardens
We challenged pupils to design an environmentally friendly garden for the new show home. The winning entry, from Riley Collins aged 10, includes several sustainable features, including bird boxes, flowers, bushes and shrubs, which will offer a variety of habitats for local wildlife and encourage biodiversity.
Riley said: “It’s great to have won and to see my garden come to life has been fantastic. I really enjoyed taking part and learning more about the importance of sustainability.”
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “We are aware of the impact the housebuilding industry can have on sustainability, which is why we are committed to encouraging sustainable solutions across our developments.
“We were so pleased to welcome Riley to Wellington Paddocks to unveil the show home garden and we would like to thank Riley and all the pupils at Deal Parochial C.E.P. School who took part in our competition to design the garden.”
