Karen's dedication to her role stems from her passion for the industry, Karen said: "The housing industry and the journey you take each customer on to find their dream home are what attracted me to this role. From understanding their unique needs to navigating the complexities of the market, every step of this journey is deeply fulfilling and meaningful to me."

Living near Chester-le-Street, Karen appreciates the area's convenient location, "The area offers a great location for access to all other North East regions, with great transport links. I enjoy the lovely community atmosphere, with amenities like Riverside Park and Beamish Museum contributing to its charm."

Karen is also particularly fond of exploring the region's natural beauty, "It isn't too far to travel for rural areas like Hamsterley Forest and Beamish Woods, which offer fantastic outdoor experiences."

Outside of work, Karen cherishes spending time with her two daughters and five grandchildren, as well as indulging in outdoor activities like walking, trekking, and motorbike holidays abroad. "Spending time with my grandchildren, and enjoying outdoor activities keeps me grounded," Karen said.

Her deep connection to her hometown and her ability to assist homeowners in making informed decisions about moving further enriches her professional experience. "It has been great working in the area I grew up in," Karen concludes, "having the knowledge to help clients make the decision to move here is very rewarding."

Callan, our Site Manager at Chester Meadows, began his journey with us as an Assistant Site Manager in September 2016, swiftly earning a promotion to Site Manager in March 2024 after successfully leading the team at Chester Grange for six months.

Speaking of his role, Callan said: "My daily tasks include overseeing all aspects of the site, which involves coordinating with subcontractors, managing material deliveries, and maintaining progress reports. I also conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, my role is centred around ensuring the timely and successful completion of each home, meeting our quality standards and exceeding customer expectations."

Talking about what drew him to the role, Callan said: "The job satisfaction it gives when handing over a home to a happy customer. Knowing that I've played a part in making their dream a reality, and seeing the excitement and happiness it brings to them and their families, is incredibly rewarding."

Since April 2023, Callan has been dedicated to the development at Chester Grange and has previously worked at other Taylor Wimpey developments such as Valley Rise and North Seaton Park.

Originally from Sunderland, Callan said of his experience: "I enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the area as well as meeting new people and working with the team around me." Outside of work, Callan treasures spending time with his family, which includes his four grandparents, parents, two brothers, and his beloved dog Razzle. His interests include football, cricket, and golf.

Lucy, our Customer Relations Manager, has been with Taylor Wimpey for 14 years, initially starting in sales before transitioning to customer care three years ago. Originally from Durham, Lucy now lives in Newcastle. Her main responsibilities include home inspections, home demonstrations before moving into your new home, and overseeing that clients settle into their new homes comfortably for the first few months. Lucy said: “Looking after our valued customers and making the journey as smooth as possible for them is what attracted me to this role.”

Lucy has been looking after Chester Grange since June 2021 and has also worked at many other Taylor Wimpey developments, including Moorcroft Spennymoor, Great Park, Valley Rise, St Andrews in Morpeth, North Seaton Park Ashington, and Greendale Park. "I moved to Chester-le-Street when I was 14, so I know the area very well. It’s a lovely place to live with the best of both worlds – the countryside on the doorstep and a lovely town centre with everything you may need. There is a cricket club which hosts some wonderful shows, not to mention good cricket. The train station is also close by if you need to travel further afield," Lucy explained.

What Lucy enjoys most about her job is meeting new people and taking care of them, as well as being out on site and dealing with the site team. Outside of work, Lucy has been married to her husband for 12 years, and they have a six-year-old son, George, who keeps her very busy. "My world revolves around our son, so we get out and about to National Trust places regularly with a picnic when the weather allows. We also love going to the beach at low tide to go rock pooling. George is a big fan of Northumberland Zoo where we hold a family membership," she said. Lucy also shared that she is not just a Taylor Wimpey employee but also a client, living in a Haddenham purchased using the part exchange scheme. "I too have been on the same customer journey as my clients," she added.
