On World Bee Day our North West team marks three years since bees moved in

This World Bee Day our North West team is looking back on three years of housing bees on its developments.

Supporting our communities

In 2021 we worked with Crewe-based Buckleys Bees to install a bee hotels at our Aldon Wood development in Warrington, and two hives at Kings Moat Garden Village in Chester. The bees have been happily living amongst residents ever since, and the weekly beekeeper visits quickly became a highlight for many who live at both developments.

The United Nations has designated 20th May as World Bee Day, and Taylor Wimpey is committed to including pollinator-friendly habitats in all of its developments.

The bees at Kings Moat Village remain on site and we hope to organise an event for the local community this summer to emphasise the importance of supporting pollinators.

Our Aldon Wood bees are currently being looked after by Buckleys Bees whilst we look to find a new home for them on one of our other developments in the area, following the completion of Aldon Wood.
