Now in its tenth year, the Taylor Wimpey Challenge sees employees from across the business come together face tough physical challenges, all in aid of charity, and we’re incredibly proud that the accumulated fundraising total has now reached over £1 million pounds.

Money raised is donated to the Youth Adventure Trust (YAT), a charity which inspires vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 through outdoor adventure, as well as other regional charities.

This year, over 355 employees took part in the event on Saturday 18th May and  headed to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset to tackle one of three challenges - the T Rex (20 miles), the Tricky (15 miles) and the Spike (10 miles). The 56 teams raised a total of over £157,800, of which over £113,000 will be donated to the YAT, while over £44,000 will go towards supporting other charities across the UK.

Jennie Daly, CEO at Taylor Wimpey, said: “The Taylor Wimpey Challenge is an event that we look forward to every year. Not only is it a fantastic way to raise money for the YAT and other charities across the UK, it’s also a brilliant day for bonding with colleagues.

“To have reached a fundraising total of over £1 million pounds since the challenge began ten years ago is something we can all be extremely proud of and it’s very rewarding knowing that our efforts this year will continue to support charities that do such important work in our communities.”
