Family take a step up the property ladder in Herne Bay

Previously living in a two-bedroom flat in Whitstable, Oliver and his partner Georgina wanted more space for their growing family, including a garden for their two young children to play in

Their search led them to the picturesque seaside town of Herne Bay, where they discovered Taylor Wimpey’s St Augustine’s Place development.

Oliver said: “We always knew we wanted to move to Herne Bay; it offers such a great quality of life, making it the dream location for our family. When we heard about St Augustine's Place we knew we wanted to visit. We'd seen Taylor Wimpey  houses before and were impressed with the room sizes and layouts, and as soon as we saw the show homes at the development we knew right away that it was the perfect place for us.”

The couple chose the 2.5 storey, three bedroom Braxton house type. Oliver said: “Our favourite feature of the Braxton has to be the main bedroom on the second floor. The space is amazing. Our children have the first floor to themselves which means Georgia and I have our own space to relax. We also love the versatility of the downstairs toilet, which doubles as a convenient utility room with space for a washing machine and plenty of cupboard space for storage.”

Opting for a new build was an easy decision for Oliver and Georgina. Oliver said: “Choosing a new build was a no-brainer for us. Not only did we get better value for our money, but we could also personalise everything to our tastes. And let's not forget about the energy efficiency and solar panels – those were definitely a nice bonus! We find that we do not need to put the heating on very often as the house retains heat well, and our energy bills are more reasonable than other people with houses of a similar size.”

Navigating the buying process with Taylor Wimpey was a breeze for the couple. From start to finish, they felt supported and informed every step of the way. Oliver said: “There was always someone on hand to answer any questions we had, and we were regularly updated with pictures of the progress of our house being built."

Now settled into their new home at St Augustine's Place, Oliver and Georgina couldn't be happier. Oliver said: “We are very impressed with the development; the landscaping is lovely and there’s lots of green space which will be perfect when the weather warms up. There’s plenty to look forward to, with facilities such as parks and the school to be built in the future, we are excited to see how it will grow over time. The best thing about the development for us is that it feels spacious and we have plenty of privacy – something that's often hard to come by in new build developments.”
