Life at your own pace, at Balham Walk
Balham is a vibrant, welcoming place to live, combining excellent local amenities with a lively arts and entertainments scene.
Within walking distance there are local shops, supermarkets including Waitrose and Sainsbury's, restaurants, cafés and takeaways to suit all tastes, and schools for all ages, including St. Mary's C of E Primary School and Chestnut Grove secondary school, both a few minutes walk. The Bedford pub, a fine old London 'local' just half a mile away, is one of London's most famous comedy venues.
Getting into town is easy. From Balham Station, 4 minutes walk away, there are frequent trains to Victoria (15 mins) or London Bridge (34 mins), and Northern Line underground services to the West End and City. Regular bus services, including Night Buses, run along Balham High Road.
For fresh air and exercise, there are several popular green open spaces less than a mile away, including Wandsworth Common and Tooting Bec Common, as well as venues for a host of sports, from bowls to martial arts.
And of course, the delights and attractions of London are waiting to be explored at your leisure. The South Bank Arts centre, and the London Eye, are both 5.2 miles away, and the view from The Shard (5.7 miles) is a must-see. Further afield, the South Downs and the coast at Brighton make for great days out, with the M23 and M25 motorways just 15 minutes away. Heathrow is 15 miles away, and Gatwick 23 miles.
