Young designer inspires showhome bedroom
Pupils from Kingfisher Primary School in Chatham were invited to design a dream children’s bedroom for the showhome at Capstone Oaks. The winning entry, created by Alexis, featured a woodland and bee theme and was brought to life by interior designer Eve Richner from Clayton and Company. Alexis recently visited the five bedroom Aireton showhome to see her design transformed into a real space.
Alexis said: “It’s amazing to see my design turned into a real bedroom. It’s even better than I imagined, and I had such a fun time visiting the showhome and meeting Eve.”
Eve Richner, Design Project Manager at Clayton and Company, said: “It’s been amazing to bring Alexis’ creative vision to life. Seeing her design turned into a real bedroom, and her excitement when visiting the showhome, was the highlight of the project.”
We donate over £43,000 to charities and community groups across Kent in 2025
In 2025, we were proud to donate over £43,000 to charities, schools, sports clubs and community groups across Kent, helping to support a wide range of local initiatives.
A highlight of the year was our annual charity golf day at Westerham Golf Club, which raised £37,000 for Amber, a charity supporting young people facing homelessness. This marked our third consecutive year supporting Amber’s Downsview centre in Kent.
Through our Community Chest initiative, we also awarded £1,000 to Chatham Royal Marines Cadet Unit, alongside sponsoring local events, supporting sports clubs, and donating books and resources to primary schools across the county.
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “From schools and sports teams, to community events and charities who provide vital support to people in need, giving back to local communities is at the heart of what we do. We’re pleased to have supported a range of good causes this year and we look forward to doing more of the same in 2026.”
We supports Kingfisher Primary School’s allotment project
We supported Kingfisher Primary School in Chatham by helping to bring the school’s allotment project to life. We partnered with Royland Contractors Limited, who visited the school to prepare the allotment by rotavating the ground and getting it ready for planting. In addition, we donated seed houses to the school’s gardening group, enabling pupils to begin growing their own fruit, vegetables and plants.
The project will give pupils the opportunity to learn more about where food comes from, how to care for plants, and the importance of looking after the environment. It will also provide a valuable hands-on outdoor learning space for the school to enjoy.
Alison Brightman, Home School Support Worker at Kingfisher Primary School, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey and Royland Contractors for their support with our allotment. The children are so excited to get started, and having the space properly prepared and the seed houses in place has made a huge difference. It’s a fantastic project that will benefit our pupils for years to come.”
Investment in the local area
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. That’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.
As part of our planning obligations for Capstone Oaks, we’ll be contributing over £7.1 million to Medway Council towards investment in local facilities and infrastructure nursery, primary and secondary education, local cycleways, waste and recycling services and Special Protection Areas for birds.
In addition, 23 of the homes in the first phase (25%), will be provided as affordable housing.
