We supported a variety of organisations including Amber, a charity supporting young people facing homelessness, who received a £22,000 donation with funds raised during our charity golf day.
Through our Community Chest initiative, which invites Kent residents to nominate local causes for donations, we contributed £1,000 each to Making Miracles and The Christmas Dinner Folkestone.
Tom Wells, a volunteer at The Christmas Dinner Folkestone, said: “A massive thank you to Taylor Wimpey for such a generous donation.”
Kelly Wells, CEO for Making Miracles, said: “We are so delighted to receive this donation in our tenth year having supported over 5000 families locally. It will help us to continue to offer our services and provide bereavement care for people in their darkest moments. Thank you so much.”
We also supported local community events, including the Herne Bay Festival and Folkestone Armed Forces Day, and sponsored sports teams including Herne Bay FC Women and Dartford FC, with a total of £1,000 in sponsorship. Local primary schools also benefitted from donations during World Book Day and Walk to School Month.
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “From schools and sports teams, to community events and charities who provide vital support to people in need, giving back to the communities in which we build is at the heart of what we do. We’re pleased to have supported a range of groups in and around Kent in 2024 and we’re dedicated to doing more of the same in 2025.”

We raise £22,000 at charity golf day
We hosted a charity golf day on Thursday 26th September, at Birchwood Park Golf & Country Club, raising vital funds for Amber, a charity supporting young people facing homelessness.
Amber, which runs four centres across Kent, Devon, Wiltshire and Surrey, offers homeless young people a safe place to live, along with the support they need to pursue education, training, or employment opportunities.
Our annual golf day event saw 91 participants, including staff and contractors, take part in a team-based competition which raised an impressive £22,000. The funding will support the young people at the charity’s Downsview centre in Kent, helping them to build their skills and qualifications so they can re-enter the workplace and live independently.
Last year, we raised £18,000 for the charity which was used towards provision of services and support for young people living at the charity’s Downsview centre in Ashford.
Serita Boxall, Fundraising Manager for Amber’s Downsview Centre in Kent, said: “The golf day was a tremendous success, and we are incredibly thankful for the fantastic support we have received. Some of our young people who came along to the evening were really inspired by others they met on the day. It's been a huge boost all round and we are so grateful for the continued support we receive from Taylor Wimpey and the wonderful individuals we had the pleasure of meeting at the golf day.”
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “We are delighted to continue our support of Amber for the second year. Their work with young people during difficult times is incredibly inspiring, and we hope that the money we have raised will make a real difference as these individuals take positive steps towards their future. Thank you to everyone who took part in the golf day and made it such a success.”
Mayor of Dartfords Charity Appeal
Our South East team has made a £1,500 donation to the Mayor of Dartford’s charity appeal for 2023-2024
Speaking of the charity appeal, Mayor of Dartford Councillor Rosanna Currans, said: “The charities I have chosen are very dear to my heart. They are all based in Dartford to help those living in the borough. They are all there to help the residents and they do a great job. It must also be said that all of them use volunteers to benefit the charities. We are extremely lucky in Dartford that so many people are prepared to give up their time freely to help others. The generosity of our residents is overwhelming and I am so proud to live here.”
