Weldon Manor is part of the wider Priors Hall Park development in Corby, which will comprise up to 5,300 homes. This exciting new community offers residents the perfect balance of urban convenience and a rural lifestyle.
There’s lots to see and do right on the doorstep, with cafés, an amphitheatre, a community centre and a District Centre with shops, a hair salon and a veterinary surgery. There are also plenty of parks, plus an abundance of green space to explore, with nature walks, lakes and outdoor play and fitness areas.
Old Quarry Wood Trail
Just before Christmas, Priors Hall Park opened the new Old Quarry Wood Trail, a 1.5km walking route around the eastern edge of Zone 2, conveniently located near all of our developments. You can check out the video on Instagram and Facebook:
This trail allows you to walk through a woodland area originally planted after the deconstruction of the Old Corby Quarry, letting you enjoy nature right on your doorstep at Priors Hall Park. Now a designated Local Wildlife Site, it is home to a diverse range of tree and plant species, as well as naturally formed ponds. You can access the new area from the front of Zone 2 near the Taylor Wimpey showhomes.
Please note that this trail consists of natural footways and uneven paths, which are not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Given the current conditions, walkers should expect muddy trails, so we encourage everyone to wear appropriate footwear.
Additionally, we've set up a webpage to promote the different walking routes at Priors Hall Park, which you can find here: www.priorshallpark.com/walkingroutes
Supporting the local community
Corby Pride has been awarded £500 from Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, after being announced as the winner of the house builder’s Community Chest competition.
Residents living in Corby and the surrounding local area were invited to nominate local good causes. Once all of the entries were considered, Taylor Wimpey awarded Corby Pride with the top prize.
The event will take place on Saturday 22nd June, starting with a parade from The Cube on George Street, travelling up Westcott Way, Elizabeth Street and concluding at Coronation Park with live music and entertainment.
Pj Bastuba, volunteer organiser at Corby Pride, said: “We want the LGBTQ community to come to celebrate and feel proud of themselves and each other in a safe environment, surrounded by supportive allies. Thanks to the generous support of Taylor Wimpey, this event promises to be louder, prouder, and more memorable than ever.”
Supporting ‘Fizzy Friday’ at Priors Hall Park
The ‘Fizzy Friday’ event, held on Friday 2nd May, gave residents the perfect opportunity to get to know their neighbours over a glass of fizz.Organised by the Priors Hall Park Neighbourhood Association, the event brought the community together at the neighbourhood’s Amphitheatre to enjoy live music, a cocktail bar, and an ice cream van.
Steven Clarke, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “We are delighted that so many residents came together to celebrate ‘Fizzy Friday’ and hope everyone enjoyed the evening. It's a great opportunity for people to meet their neighbours and make new friends while enjoying the brilliant open spaces and fantastic community spirit.”
