Mayor officially opens new show homes
The Mayor and Mayoress of Dartford, have officially opened the new show homes at our Knights Reach development in Dartford.
Councillor Andy Lloyd and his wife Diane were special guests at Knights Reach on Tuesday 14th January, where our team guided them through the stunning new show homes, including the three bedroom Keeford and Harrton, the four bedroom Plumdale, and the two bedroom Beaford view home.
During their visit, the Mayor and Mayoress also learned about the exciting plans for the development, which will feature new play areas, an on-site healthcare centre, retail units, a Linear Parkland, and a community orchard, alongside 763 energy-efficient new homes designed to create a thriving and sustainable community.
Councillor Lloyd said: “I was delighted to open the new show homes at this exciting new development and I’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for the invitation. It was brilliant to see how Knights Reach is progressing and to find out about the future plans for the delivery of new homes and facilities for local residents.”
Pupils design warm welcome for new Knights Reach residents
We teamed up with pupils at The Brent Primary School to design a welcome home card for new residents at Knights Reach. The winning design, created by 11-year-old Vihaan, is now given to homeowners when they receive their keys. Vihaan also received a £50 voucher as a thank you.
Vihaan said: “I was really excited to take part in the competition and I’m so happy my design was chosen as the winning entry. I hope it makes people smile when they move into their new homes.”
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the pupils at The Brent School who got involved with our welcome home card competition. The entries were brilliant and we have displayed a selection of our favourites in the sales office at Knights Reach.
“It was tough to choose just one winner but we felt that Vihaan’s design would act as the perfect greeting for our new residents.”

Knights Reach welcomes first residents
Sheril (38), his wife Aliya (33) and their six-year-old son, Aidan, are amongst the first residents to move into a new home at this exciting new community.
Having previously lived in Cutty Sark, Greenwich, Sheril and family wanted to find a home that better suited their needs in a location that complemented their lifestyle.
Sheril explains: “We had been searching for the perfect home for a while and Knights Reach stood out as the ideal choice in the right location. With easy access to Dartford railway station, Bluewater shopping centre and fairly close proximity to London, the development was a perfect fit for us.”
The family were drawn to the spacious and flexible layout of the three bedroom Aynesdale housetype. Sheril shares: “Our favourite features are the spacious living room and kitchen which both provide a beautiful view of the garden. The thoughtful design provides plenty of natural light, which creates a bright and airy feel throughout. The rooms and garden are generously sized, making the home both comfortable and inviting.”
Energy efficiency was an important factor in the family’s decision to buy a new build, as well as the reassurance of a 10-year NHBC warranty. Sheril says: “The first two years are covered by Taylor Wimpey, which gave us peace of mind.”
Sheril was impressed with the smooth and easy buying process with Taylor Wimpey. Sheril says: “Our experience was excellent. The sales team kept us informed throughout the process and guided us right up until move-in day. After we moved in, the customer relationship manager was incredibly helpful in ensuring we were settling in well and resolving any snagging issues.”
As part of their home purchase, the family also took advantage of a £14,000 deposit contribution incentive, which helped make their move possible.
Now settled into their new home, Sheril and his family couldn’t be happier with their decision to move to Knights Reach. Sheril said: “We truly believe we made the right choice with our home at Knights Reach. The build quality has exceeded our expectations, and the customer relations team has been incredibly supportive throughout the process.”
We host site safety talk at The Brent Primary School
As construction continues at the Knights Reach development in Dartford, representatives from our team visited the school to highlight the potential dangers of active construction sites. Pupils also had the opportunity to ask questions and each pupil was given a copy of our activity book.Sarah Rye, Headteacher at The Brent Primary School, said: "We’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for visiting our school and talking to the children about such an important subject. The session was engaging and informative, giving our pupils a real understanding of the risks construction sites can pose and how to stay safe."
Simon Strudwick, Regional Health and Safety Advisor at Taylor Wimpey, led the talk and said: “Children are naturally curious about building sites, but it’s crucial they know the potential risks and how to stay out of harm’s way. The pupils at The Brent Primary were brilliant, and I hope the session has given them valuable insight into the importance of site safety."
