About the development
Site plan
This development is designed to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for Designing Streets. These designs give priority to pedestrians over vehicles using shared surfaces and home zones to create natural areas of focus at key points of the development.
A new footpath network will provide residents access to the existing woodland and open space, as well as links to the wider local area. There will be play areas provided within other parcels of the masterplan development for children to play and socialise.

The perfect place to be
Hamilton is a growing community in South Lanarkshire offering an excellent mix of local amenities, including shops and restaurants. Surrounding towns of Motherwell and East Kilbride offer plenty to keep you busy, including a day out at Chatelherault or Strathclyde Country Park. Our development has excellent access to the M74 which makes getting around easy or reach Glasgow by train in under 30 minutes from Hamilton Central station. You’ll find a variety of schools on your doorstep, so it’ll be easy to walk your kids to and from school.

We recently challenged Primary 5 pupils of St Mark’s Primary School to design a flag to welcome customers and visitors to our Oakwood Grove development in Hamilton.
The winning flag design, created by Harper Drummond, has been produced into a flag that now proudly flies at the entrance to the development, providing a warm and colourful welcome to everyone visiting Oakwood Grove. Harper took home a £50 book voucher and recently visited the development to see the flag in situ.
The standard of the entries was so high that five additional entries were chosen to form part of the additional signage at the development, welcoming visitors. Sophie, Zahra, Olivia, Matthew and Jacob have each received a £15 book voucher.
Colette Watson, Head Teacher at St Mark’s Primary, said: “Taking part in the Taylor Wimpey competition to design a flag for their Oakwood Grove housing development was an exciting opportunity for our Primary 5 classes to be involved in.
“The children enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design, and I understand the judges found it hard to choose a winner due to the high standard of entries. The flag looks great, and the banner is so colourful too. Together they showcase the hard work and artistic talent of our children and create a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development in Hamilton.”
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland adds: “We are delighted with the winning flag design and indeed the other designs that we chose to create a warm welcome to our Oakwood Grove development.
“We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes. It has been our pleasure to work with St Mark’s Primary on this project, and to strengthen and extend our links once again within the local community of Hamilton.”

We teamed up with Primary 4 pupils at St Mark’s Primary School to create a ‘Welcome Home’ card for new residents at our Oakwood Grove and Oakwood View developments in Hamilton.
We challenged the children to create a colourful design and the winning entry, from Aria Thomson, has been created into a card that will be given to homeowners when they move into their new homes. Aria received a £50 voucher, and because the standard of entries was so impressive the judges chose two further runner-up designs by Madison Reilly and Myah Paterson to each win a £25 voucher.
The children had great fun in taking part in our unique challenge.
St Mark’s Primary School was awarded a £200 donation as a thank-you for getting involved. The children were invited to the development recently to be awarded their prizes and receive framed copies of their impressive designs

Supporting the community
Reflecting the popularity of new homes at our Oakwood Grove development in Hamilton, we have made a third donation to Baby Bank Scotland — this time contributing £900 as part of our ongoing pledge to donate £25 for every new home sold and legally completed within the first phase of 163 new homes.
This latest contribution brings the total donated to date to £1,750, further supporting the essential work Baby Bank Scotland delivers from its hub at Allanshaw Industrial Estate in Hamilton. The charity provides vital assistance to babies and children living in poverty by encouraging the local community to donate much‑needed items.
Janette Meechan, Charity Manager of Baby Bank Scotland, said: “Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s continued support means more than they may ever realise. Demand for our services continues to grow, and donations like this allow us to respond quickly and with dignity to families who are struggling. Their commitment to the Hamilton community helps us ensure that no baby or child goes without the essentials they deserve.”
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added:
“We don’t just build new homes, and our commitment to Baby Bank Scotland remains an important part of how we support the wider Hamilton community. We’re delighted that the success of Oakwood Grove, where over 60% of our new homes are now sold, allows us to continue contributing to such a valuable local charity, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this latest donation will help to deliver.”
Our pledge to Baby Bank Scotland is one of many contributions we are making towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area.
