Supporting sustainability at Leighton Buzzard Christmas Festival
We're championing for sustainability and reducing plastic waste as the Leighton Buzzard Christmas Festival’s Recyclable Cup Sponsor this year.
Following our successful sustainable sponsorship of the Linslade Canal Festival in July 2025, we are proud to support the Christmas Festival for the first time. Between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th November on Leighton Buzzard High Street, visitors were treated to a free, celebratory Christmas weekend featuring live performances from headliner Big in Brazil. Local groups also took to the stage to get visitors into the Christmas spirit with festive performances from Infinite AllStars Cheerleading, Leighton Buzzard’s Children’s Theatre, The Rock Project MK and Spectrum Community Arts. On top of this, roaming entertainment spread festive cheer up and down the high street, including mischievous elves, Christmas Belles, Granny Turismo, and of course, Santa’s Sleigh.
Leighton-Linslade Town Council, organisers of the Leighton Buzzard Christmas Festival, said: “Receiving continued support from Taylor Wimpey for our much-loved community events is invaluable to us, and we were so pleased to welcome them on board as the Leighton Buzzard Christmas Festival’s Recyclable Cup Sponsor for the first time.
“We welcome thousands of visitors to our Christmas Festival every year, and sustainability has become a huge priority when considering the needs of our organisers, vendors and visitors. It was fantastic to see so many local people enjoying the festivities in Leighton Buzzard, and we can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their ongoing support in 2025.”
Fiona Lloyd, Sales & Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, said: “We’re pleased to have been able to support the organisers of Leighton Buzzard’s Christmas Festival with their sustainability efforts this year. Having recyclable cups available at events with thousands of visitors means that their overall plastic waste during the event can be reduced, and it makes us proud to continue to show support for Leighton-Linslade Town Council and their sustainability goals.
“Leighton Buzzard Christmas Festival is the highlight of the Christmas calendar here in Leighton Buzzard, and we hope everyone had an excellent weekend getting into the festive spirit.”
Supporting sustainability at Linslade Canal Festival
We've encouraged sustainability and reduced plastic waste as Linslade Canal Festival’s Recyclable Cups Sponsor for 2025.
On 26th July at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, visitors were treated to a free, unforgettable day of celebrations featuring live performances from headliners Wayland Smithy and the Brass Junkies. Roaming musicians also kept visitors entertained with spontaneous musical fun and the acoustic stage also welcomed talented artists. On top of this, there were plenty of activities for festival goers to enjoy including traditional artisans moored up along the tow-path, nature-based children’s workshops and captivating storytelling.
Each year, the Linslade Canal Festival welcomes over 9,000 visitors and we're very proud to support the event as part of its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and building sustainably.
Leighton-Linslade Town Council, organisers of the Linslade Canal Festival, said: “Receiving support for Linslade Canal Festival from Taylor Wimpey for another year is invaluable to us. With thousands of visitors to the festival each year, sustainability has become a big priority for us when organising the event, and it’s really positive to have Taylor Wimpey get behind us with our sustainable cup initiative.
“We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their sponsorship and continued support of the Linslade Canal Festival. The event has become bigger every year and it was fantastic to see so many people come along to the festival.”
Our Sales and Marketing Director, Fiona Lloyd, said: “Linslade Canal Festival is a highlight in the summer calendar in Leighton Buzzard, and we’re proud to be able to support the organisers with their sustainability efforts to reduce plastic waste. We hope everyone had an excellent day at the Linslade Canal Festival and that our recyclable cups helped to reduce visitors' overall plastic waste during the event.”
We support Royal British Legion’s Poppy Prom concert
The event at All Saints Church in the town featured The Bedfordshire Band of the Royal British Legion and Chanteuses; a local female choir, and a traditional RBL Service of Remembrance and a Parade of Standards. The concert officially marked the launch of the Leighton Buzzard Poppy Appeal, and was a sell-out success with a packed audience of more than 200 people helping to raise more than £4,100 for the appeal.
Royal British Legion Standard Bearer and the Leighton Buzzard branch Chairman, said: “We’re so pleased to have been able to bring the Poppy Prom Concert back for its second year to officially launch the 2025 Poppy Appeal in the town.
“Without the support of local businesses like Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, we wouldn’t be able to bring this wonderful event to life, and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support. We look forward to planning the 2026 Poppy Prom Concert in the coming months.”
Taylor Wimpey South Midlands Technical Manager, Jake Kirby, attended on the night and said: “I’m so proud to have been able to attend the second Poppy Prom Concert in Leighton Buzzard on behalf of Taylor Wimpey.
“The Leighton Buzzard team worked so hard this year to organise a memorable concert, and their hard work paid off with a real community feeling felt throughout the evening. It’s incredible to see that the concert brought in more than £4,100 through the launch of their Poppy Appeal alone.”
Supporting the Leighton Buzzard community
World Book Day 2024
World Book Day celebrations at Beaudesert Lower School in Leighton Buzzard were boosted by a £500 donation from our South Midlands team. The school decided to put the money towards hiring a children’s author, Lou Treleaven, who visited the school earlier this month as part of World Book Day celebrations to read a variety of different books to the pupils.
“We celebrate World Book Day every year at Beaudesert Primary and it's something our children really look forward to. They thoroughly enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters on the day, as well as listening to Lou Treleaven read some of their wonderful stories. Having a storyteller visit our school was a fantastic way of engaging the children and emphasising just how central reading is throughout our lives. We thank Taylor Wimpey for their contribution in making this happen.” Vanessa Pearce, Head Teacher at Beaudesert Lower School
Local events
Leighton Buzzard is a thriving market town with a buzzing community and so we were proud to sponsor the Canal Festival at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, Linslade. The festival, which highlights canal life, conservation, the countryside and traditional rural crafts, showcased a variety of traditional craft demonstrators including stick makers, skep builders and wood carvers.
A spokesperson from Leighton-Linslade Town Council said: “We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for sponsoring the main stage at our Canal Festival this year. The event was a huge success with all those in attendance having a thoroughly enjoyable day.”

Sarah makes The Midford her forever home
Our customer (and colleague from our sales team!) Sarah and her partner were delighted when they found the 4 bedroom Midford property here at Hadley Grange. We've caught up with the couple on their new home purchasing journey and have been lucky enough to see how they've styled their beautiful home to make it their own.
Sarah said: “Inside, the open plan kitchen/diner is a perfect space for socialising and the utility room is an added bonus. All the rooms are very spacious, including the hallways. It really does tick every box for us.”
The couple were also excited about the customer journey and getting the opportunity to customise their home. Sarah said: “I was able to view a lot of the options in local show homes so it made it easier to visualise in real life.”
“My dream was for a neutral home, so the Cranbrook Platinum kitchen was ideal. I paired this with the Calcutta Gold worktop and it all turned out perfectly.”
Sarah concluded: “We’re really enjoying our new home and life at Hadley Grange. Next on our agenda is to convert our garage into a home gym, which we’re really looking forward to.”
This is a paid testimonial.
