First-time buyers relocate from Nottingham to Alder Park
After renting in Nottingham, first-time buyers Rebecca and Ollie decided to relocate to the North East to take their first step onto the property ladder. Their move led them to Alder Park where they found their new home.
As first-time buyers, Rebecca and Ollie were drawn to the benefits of buying a new-build property. “A new-build home has really suited our needs,” said Ollie.
Location played a key role in their decision to buy at Alder Park. Rebecca explained. “Our first impression of the development was that it was a great size, well located, and it felt more premium than other developments we viewed.”
Reflecting on the buying journey, Rebecca said the experience exceeded their expectations. “The process was smooth, positive and exciting throughout,” "Denise was brilliant. She was well organised, supportive and genuinely excited for us every step of the way.”
Now settled into their new home, the couple are enjoying both the property and the wider location. “The location works perfectly for us,” Ollie added. “Being just two minutes from the A1 makes travelling for work easy and the home office gets plenty of use. I also love having a golf course and driving range within walking distance.”
Rebecca added: “My commute is around 20 minutes by car, which is really convenient. We’re really enjoying life in our new home and couldn’t be happier with our decision to relocate and buy with Taylor Wimpey.”

We donated £500 to local volunteer group
Taylor Wimpey North East has donated £500 to Keep Washington Tidy, a volunteer-run community interest group dedicated to protecting the local environment through regular litter picking efforts.
The donation will help sustain the group's year-round work, which keeps Washington clean and welcoming, whilst protecting wildlife habitats and encouraging community pride. The volunteers meet regularly to tidy local spaces, making a visible difference throughout the town.
Liz Clarke, Secretary of Keep Washington Tidy, said: "We are delighted to receive this generous donation from Taylor Wimpey. This funding will make a real difference in sustaining our goals, as we hope to expand our activities into local schools, encouraging children to get involved and learn the importance of working together to care for the community."
Georgia Crosby, Marketing Executive at Taylor Wimpey North East, added: "We're pleased to support Keep Washington Tidy and the brilliant work of its volunteers in their mission to keep Washington looking its best, while also inspiring the next generation.
As well as providing high-quality homes in the area, we're committed to supporting groups who make a valuable contribution to the community. It’s great to see so many people taking pride in their local environment, and we’re proud to play a small part in that effort.”
