About the development
Burghley Green Phase 2
Burghley Green offers a well-balanced landscape of homes set within green corridors and footpaths to wander through. Streets have been carefully designed to encourage low car speeds, so parking never dominates the view.
Sustainability has been considered in every detail. All homes benefit from triple-glazed doors and windows, PV panels and EV charging points. Each property also features waste water heat recovery systems, enhanced loft insulation, and improved air tightness beyond current Building Regulations, creating energy-efficient homes that are comfortable, quiet and future-ready. Many homes also include dedicated space for home working, alongside thoughtful design touches that support modern living and more sustainable travel choices.

Buyers settle down in their forever home
Sonali (37) and Madhur (37) have made the move to West Cambourne to enjoy their forever home. After making the move from Stevenage to West Cambourne with their family, Sonali said: “West Cambourne immediately felt like the right place for us. The area is peaceful, family-friendly, and beautifully surrounded by green spaces. A major factor in our decision was the outstanding local secondary school, which adds long-term value and reassurance. The development itself stood out for its thoughtful planning, open surroundings, and the sense of a growing, well-connected community.”
Sonali and Madhur moved into the Waysdale housetype, a four-bedroom home ideal for families. “The Waysdale really stood out to us because of its unique layout and excellent use of space. The design allows for great natural flow and privacy. Key features we loved include the energy efficiencies, a garage, and a generous garden. ”
The family had a great buying experience with Taylor Wimpey. Madhur said: “Our buying journey was exceptionally smooth from start to finish. The Taylor Wimpey Sales and Customer Relations team made the entire process easy and stress-free. We would especially like to thank Lauren and Caren for their support, clarity, and consistent communication. Their professionalism made a huge difference.
“We’re genuinely pleased with our experience and grateful to the Taylor Wimpey team for making everything so straightforward. The quality of the home, the energy-efficient features, and the overall neighbourhood experience have made this a great investment for our family.”
The family is thoroughly enjoying life in their new home at West Cambourne. Sonali told us: “It already feels like a safe and welcoming space for our family to grow. The neighbourhood has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and we’ve found the community very supportive, which makes settling in even easier.”
Madhur added: “It’s a place where we can unwind, spend quality time together, and watch our family grow. Every day feels grounded and reassuring, and there’s something special about returning to a home that truly feels like ours, in a community that’s welcoming and familiar.”
First-time buyers are among the first to make the move to West Cambourne
Sudeep (41) and Shivangi (38) have made the move to West Cambourne to enjoy their forever home.
The couple decided to move with their family from Cambridge to West Cambourne. Sudeep said: “Ellison Gardens offers excellent connectivity to both Cambridge and St. Neots, where we work. How close we are to highly rated schools was also a major advantage. Also, we were impressed by the build quality of Taylor Wimpey homes and received strong recommendations from friends and colleagues who had positive experiences with Taylor Wimpey too.”
Sudeep and Shivangi moved into the spacious four-bedroom Marford, ideal for families looking for versatile space. Shivangi said: “The Marford offers a perfect balance of space and practicality. As we are both hybrid workers, the layout provides enough room for us to have separate home offices without compromising on family living space. The four well-proportioned bedrooms are perfect for our family right now, but also provide lots of flexibility for the future. We were also drawn to the open-plan kitchen and dining area, which creates a great space for socialising.”
The family were one of the first residents to move into West Cambourne, and have had a great experience at the development so far. Sudeep said: “From day one, it felt like a welcoming and friendly community, especially after meeting our wonderful neighbours.”
The family is thoroughly enjoying life in their new home. Shivigani told us: “We are absolutely in love with our new home. It’s comfortable, spacious, and perfectly designed for family life. We especially enjoy spending quality time with our kids and making the most of the space for both relaxation and fun. There is a reading corner, a corner with a piano, a place for football and a relaxation area all packed in one happy space.”
Sudeep added: “Our favourite part about coming home is the feeling of warmth and comfort as soon as we walk in. The open-plan kitchen and dining area has quickly become the heart of our home, a place where we cook, laugh, and spend quality time together as a family. It’s beautiful!”

Supporting the local community
Supporting local community group, Light Up Cambourne
We have recently donated £500 to Light Up Cambourne, a local community group established in 2013. Their team of volunteers work to fundraise, organise, and install Christmas lights, making Cambourne shine at Christmas.
Our donation will support Light Up Cambourne with their goal to illuminate West Cambourne by Christmas 2026 and for many years to come.
Supporting music education in Cambourne
We have recently donated £7,000 towards the purchase of a baby grand piano at Cambourne Village College.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Cambourne Village College, we donated the baby grand piano to give all students at the college access to the instrument, which will enrich music education, while providing opportunities that will benefit the whole community.
Alongside out donation, the college is also launching an annual Taylor Wimpey Piano Competition, which is open to all abilities so every student can showcase their skills and progress.
The piano will make its public debut at Cambourne Village College’s GCSE showcase in late October 2025, where Year 11 pupils will perform their solo coursework pieces to a live audience. It will also feature in a number of events, including the first rounds of the Taylor Wimpey Piano Competition in December and January, and the much-loved Sixth Form “Carols around the Piano”.

Supporting the set up of a community cinema in Cambourne
We supported Cambourne Village College Charitable Trust with a £5,000 donation to help them set up a community cinema for students and local residents to enjoy.
The new cinema venue can be found in the sixth form centre in Cambourne Village College and is open to students as well as the local Cambourne community.
The new big screen is beneficial to those studying performing arts at the college as well as providing local residents with out-of-hours entertainment.
The screen can show top-ranking box-office films and live broadcasts of west-end theatre and opera shows.
Bryn Maidman, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “We’re proud to have been able to support Cambourne Village College Charitable Trust with its plans to open a community cinema, which cements our mission to support the communities we build in. We look forward to seeing the community cinema open to the public and it will be great to see so many people from in and around Cambourne enjoying the community cinema in years to come.”
