Wixams Cinema Sponsorship
The Wixams community is absolutely thriving and the Community Council often has various and seasonal events on throughout the year for local residents to enjoy free of charge.
To end the Summer holidays on a high, we sponsored a free to attend open air cinema event at one of the open spaces where there were several films showing throughout the day, food trucks and a lovely warm atmosphere of neighbours getting together and enjoying being in the outdoors.
It was a great success and lovely to see everyone having such a good day out together.
World Book Day donation
World Book Day celebrations at Lakeview Primary school in Wixams were boosted by a £500 donation from our South Midlands team.
The school, located on School Lane, chose to put the funds towards purchasing brand new books for the pupils to enjoy.
As well as enjoying new books, pupils celebrated World Book Day (7th March) by dressing up in pyjamas or as their favourite character and bringing along their most treasured books for reading sessions that took place throughout the fun-filled day.
“World Book Day is a fantastic initiative our children look forward to every year - it’s a celebration of storytelling and really encourages children to hone their reading skills. This year, and thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s donation, we have been able to purchase a variety of new books to support all our students in their learning and development. Marta & Mateusz buy with Taylor Wimpey again
After buying a Taylor Wimpey home ten years ago, Marta (36) and Mateusz (40) have just made their second move to a new home in Cromwell Place.
Marta and Mateusz moved with their family a previous Taylor Wimpey development in Wixams to Cromwell Place. Marta said: “We wanted to stay in Wixams and really liked the homes that Taylor Wimpey were selling.”
The couple moved into the spacious four-bedroom Shilford, an ideal home for families. With a dedicated study, utility room, and open-plan kitchen and dining space, Mateusz said: “After visiting the show home, we fell in love with the Shilford. It’s spacious and has enough rooms for both of us to work from home. The triple-glazed windows are also great.”
We asked the family what they thought of the kitchen and dining areas, Marta told us: “It’s one of the best features of this house. The wide kitchen and dining areas are amazing for hosting parties or enjoying regular family meals. “At our home, the sun rises on the dining room side and creates a great atmosphere during morning breakfast.”
When asked why they decided to buy with Taylor Wimpey again, the family considered multiple factors, Mateusz told us: “This property ticked most of our boxes and felt like it had the least compromise compared to others. Space, plot location, size of the garden, quality of build, triple-glazed windows, solar panels - all of these factors played a role in our decision-making.”
As the family began to settle into their home, they realised how much they love the extra space and wider development. Marta said: “We like the fact that Cromwell Place is surrounded by a lot of green areas where our children can safely play.
“The best part is feeling we found our forever home where every family member has their own space, but also areas where we can get together to enjoy family time.”

Sisters both buy at Cromwell Place
Victoria (30) and Steve (48) instantly fell in love with their new Taylor Wimpey home at Cromwell Place, so much so that Victoria has convinced her sister to take her first step onto the property ladder and make the move to the same development too.
The couple made the move with their family from Stewartby to Wixams to stay close to Victoria’s extended family. Victoria said: “Cromwell Place is close to where we used to live, so our son wouldn't have to move schools, and it’s within walking distance to my mum and older sister's homes.”
Victoria and Steve moved into the spacious three-bedroom Eynsford, which has the perfect mix of sociable and private spaces, ideal for families like theirs. The couple said their favourite part is the peace and quiet that the Eynsford brings. Steve said: “We love having a utility room now where we can shut the door and not have to listen to the noise of the washing machine. We also like the ensuite, as it means the children now have their own bathroom.”
When asked why they decided to buy new, settling in quickly was Victoria and Steve’s priority. Victoria told us: “We were comforted by the fact that everything was new and ready to move into. The house is built and finished so nicely, which has made settling in so much easier. I love coming home to a clean, fresh house. Now we’ve unpacked and everything is in order, it's nice to just relax in peace and quiet. This house is always warm, and the triple glazing makes the house very quiet.”
Soon Victoria’s sister will also become a new resident of Cromwell Place, thanks to Victoria and Steve’s recommendations. Victoria told us: “My sister is a first-time buyer and was also looking to buy in the same area as me. With our mum being so close and our other sister being within walking distance too, she was interested in buying in Wixams. I recommended Cromwell Place because I knew the team in the office would help find the right property for her. The team was great and made it possible for her to get the plot she wanted. ”

First Time Buyer Takes First Step Onto Housing Ladder
Recruitment Consultant, Callum Wallis (21), moved into his first home at Cromwell Place in March 2025 after previously living with his parents and deciding to make the big move to owning his own home.
When asked why he opted for a new-build home rather than a pre-owned one, Callum said: “I was drawn to the ease and simplicity of a new-build home. I loved the idea of everything being brand new and under warranty, with no need for renovations or unexpected issues. It was also a big plus to choose my own interiors such as flooring, kitchen style, and tiles. It made the home feel truly personal from the start, and I appreciated being the very first person to live here.”
After Callum had explored all the developers in the local area, he chose Taylor Wimpey to purchase a home from, he said: “Taylor Wimpey offered excellent value for money and house layouts that made the most of the available space. One thing that particularly impressed me was that every bedroom in the Braxton could comfortably fit a double wardrobe. That might seem small, but it showed how well thought-out the design was compared to other new-builds I’d seen in my budget.”
Having previously lived in Silsoe, Callum looked at Cromwell Place due to its convenient location in Wixams, he said: “Cromwell Place is ideally situated for commuting, with easy access to Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes and Northampton. Beyond that, the development had a lot of appeal as it struck a balance between modern convenience and a community feel.”
Callum’s chosen house type was the three-bedroom Braxton, which he had initially been impressed with when viewing the development due to its use of space. He said: “The top floor bedroom is incredibly spacious and was honestly the clincher; I loved how bright and open it felt. The fact that each bedroom could comfortably accommodate a double wardrobe was a huge plus too, especially for future resale value and functionality.”
Commenting on the purchasing process, Callum said: “The whole process was incredibly smooth from start to finish. The sales team were brilliant and were always happy to answer questions, offered updates without being prompted, and really worked around my schedule which I appreciated a lot as I work full-time. They made what could have been a stressful experience feel enjoyable and exciting. The sales team went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly and even arranged viewings and meetings around my work schedule. That level of flexibility and customer care made all the difference. I feel supported not just in the buying process, but even after moving in.”
Now that he’s settled in, Callum shared his thoughts on his new home: “I’m settling in really well. It’s been an exciting journey making the space my own. It’s still early days, so I’m gradually finding the best spots for everything and adding personal touches. The house already feels like home, and I love coming back to a place that’s completely mine. Key worker Bartosz and partner Wiktoria
For Wiktoria, 27, and Bartosz, 29, moving to Taylor Wimpey’s Cromwell Place marked the purchase of their first home together. Having now moved in, the pair are busy decorating for Christmas and excited for the future on the development.
Before making the move, the couple had been living separately with their respective parents in Borehamwood and Luton. After researching their options and deciding they definitely wanted a new build, they were drawn to Cromwell Place for its location in Wixams and the green space around their home.

Michael and Klarissa Etienne, along with their two-year-old daughter and cat, recently found their dream home with Taylor Wimpey at its Cromwell Place development in Wixams.
Klarissa shares their journey: "We were living in a two-bedroom detached house in Biggleswade, which was becoming a tight squeeze for our growing family. We teamed up with Willow Grove Primary for a Christmas Card Competition
Pupils at the newly opened school Willow Grove Primary, were tasked with designing a bright and bold Christmas card for our Cromwell Place competition, with Nyla Raine winning the competition for her ‘bold creation’ that ‘really captured the Christmas spirit’.Nyla’s design has now been formally printed, ready for her to share with family and friends. Taylor Wimpey South Midlands will also post the Christmas card to all residents living at its Cromwell Place development, which is located directly opposite the school.
All other entries from the competition have been proudly displayed in the sales office at Cromwell Place, to further showcase the creativity and efforts of the pupils.
Lisa Kennedy, Headteacher at Willow Grove Primary School, said: “We were really excited to launch this competition to our pupils as we know just how much they enjoy expressing themselves in design and getting creative, particularly at Christmas time. It’s also fantastic to know their work is being seen within the wider Wixams community, and that Nyla’s design is spreading festive cheer with local residents. We are so proud of her and all the children for their efforts.”
