We sponsored a matchday between Alresford Town Football Club and Colden Common Football Club on Saturday 6th December 2025 with a £500 donation. The fixture, which is part of the Wessex League Division One, was played at Alresford’s home ground of Arlebury Park in Alresford. 339 spectators attended the event, which was the second largest crowd in the country at this level of football on the weekend.
“Although the result on the pitch was not the one we had hoped for, the day was a tremendous success in every other respect. We give boost to Alresford Agricultural Show
We are proud to have supported the community of Alresford with a contribution of £250 to the Alresford Agricultural Show, which took place on the 7th September 2024.
Our donation was put towards the event’s prize money fund and was part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the community local to Alresford Down.
The Alresford Agricultural Show takes place on the first Saturday of September every year in Tichborne Park and celebrates rural life in Alresford and the community residing there. Each year, the park’s cattle grazing land is transformed into the event’s showground with the help of volunteers.
This year’s event saw a footfall of around 12,000 attendees, showcasing prize-winning animals, a variety of horse competitions, local food, drink and shopping stalls, modern and vintage machinery exhibitions, dog shows, and children’s entertainment.
Lorraine Bailey, Secretary for the Alresford Agricultural Show, said: “It was touch and go as to whether the Alresford Show was still on due to the amount of rainfall we had that week, but thanks to the ground management, dedication and sheer determination of the team all went ahead! A big thank you to everyone involved and to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation from the people who made it happen, our members and the public for making it a fantastic day.”
Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "With construction underway at our Alresford Down development, we are delighted to support the Alresford community ahead of our development’s launch. School pupils design flag for Alresford Down
School pupils at Ropley Church of England Primary School in New Alresford have been getting creative for our flag design competition. We challenged the pupils to design a vibrant and imaginative flag that would welcome visitors and residents to Alresford Down. The children created a range of colourful entries, giving our team a tough decision to make. In the end, Oliver Murrell (Year 6) took the top prize and received a £50 Amazon voucher, his design is now flying high at Alresford Down. We also donated £250 to the school as a thank you for taking part, which will be put towards its new reading scheme.
Daniel Mills, Headteacher at Ropley Church of England Primary School, said: “The competition was a great success. The children were very enthusiastic and focused whilst creating their flag designs. They also asked lots of questions about the new Taylor Wimpey development, as the project is particularly personal to our students from the Alresford area. Thank you so much to Taylor Wimpey for providing our children with the opportunity of taking part in the competition, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
