Stuart Gillespie is celebrating after winning a Seal of Excellence 2025 Quality Award from the National House-Building Council (NHBC), recognising his outstanding work at Oakwood View in Hamilton.
The award honours excellence in site management and build quality, placing Stuart Gillespie in the top 5% of site managers in the UK.
Now in its 45th year and widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job celebrates site managers’ dedication to raising standards in house building, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence. Judging is rigorous and thousands of inspections have taken place to determine the 450 award winners from a field of circa 8,200 sites.
Stuart Gillespie, Site Manager at Oakwood View in Hamilton, said: “It’s an honour to have received a Quality Award from the NHBC – which is my second in a row for this impressive development. The whole team at Oakwood View is passionate about building high quality homes and I’m delighted that our efforts have been recognised once again. For me, being acknowledged as one of the top site managers not only in the local area, but across the UK, continues to be a true career highlight and something I’m extremely proud of.”

Brian Henderson, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We have always been committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service, and our continued recognition as an NHBC award-winning homebuilder reflects that dedication. This award is thoroughly deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of Stuart Gillespie and the team at Oakwood View in Hamilton for their consistent success in these prestigious awards.”
Commenting on the awards, Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC said: “Congratulations to Stuart Gillespie, who has demonstrated the dedication, passion and leadership skills necessary to deliver new homes to exacting construction quality standards.
“Thousands of outstanding site managers have made their mark on the industry in the 45 years Pride in the Job has been running. This continued focus on excellence is vital to support the Government’s 1.5 million new homes target and to ensure that all housing is built to the quality owners and occupiers should expect.”
In the community
We teamed up with Primary 4 pupils at St Mark’s Primary School to create a ‘Welcome Home’ card for new residents at our Oakwood Grove and Oakwood View developments in Hamilton. We challenged the children to create a colourful design and the winning entry, from Aria Thomson, has been created into a card that will be given to homeowners when they move into their new homes.
The children had great fun in taking part in our unique challenge.
Aria received a £50 voucher, and because the standard of entries was so impressive the judges chose two further runner-up designs by Madison Reilly and Myah Paterson to each win a £25 voucher.
St Mark’s Primary School was awarded a £200 donation as a thank-you for getting involved. The children were invited to the development recently to be awarded their prizes and receive framed copies of their impressive designs.
