Site Manager at Friars Oak has been recognised as one of the best in the UK.We provided a tree for the Hassocks community
Taylor Wimpey South Thames and Hassocks Parish Council worked together to install a new addition to the landscape at Adastra Park for the benefit of local residents, as well as the local wildlife which has made Hassocks its home.Having decided on the most suitable type of tree based on the local soil, environment and proposed location, the housebuilder then provided a £500 donation to cover the cost of the sapling, planting materials and a commemorative plaque.

We are delighted to have been able to work with Hassocks Parish Council to provide this tree for Hassocks in Adastra Park.”
Hassocks Goes Gold to support childhood cancer research.
Taylor Wimpey South Thames has recently sponsored Hassocks Goes Gold in an effort to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.In loving memory of the beloved Hassocks resident and Windmills Junior School pupil, Pearl Dixie BartlettBundy, Hassocks Goes Gold paints the town gold every year in September to raise vital funds for #PearlPower. In partnership with The Children & Young People’s Cancer Association, #PearlPower funds research projects for childhood cancer to help prevent similar tragedies for other families.
Created by Rachel BartlettBundy, Pearl’s Mother, the #PearlPower fund currently stands at £155,636 and has funded six research projects since the campaign’s formation over seven years ago.
The £500 donation from Taylor Wimpey South Thames has provided several gold bows for the Gold Bow Trail around Hassocks and has secured additional funding dedicated to the #PearlPower fundraiser.
Rachel Bartlett Bundy, Pearl’s Mother and Hassocks Goes Gold Fundraising Organiser, said: “Thank you so much to Taylor Wimpey for this donation, your contribution really does make a difference. I’m really proud that Hassocks Goes Gold has managed to help fund another four new research projects this year, all developing kinder and more effective treatments into Ewings Sarcoma, the type of cancer that took Pearl in 2017.
“This, on top of the previous two project looking into a form of childhood Leukaemia and childhood brain cancer, are showing exciting developments and we’d like to express our thanks to all that have supported and donated.”
Taylor Wimpey supports new veterinary clinic in Sussex
The housebuilder provided Hawthorn Vets with a £250 donation to celebrate the grand opening of its Hassocks clinic, which took place on Thursday 7th August.Hawthorn Vets provides expert veterinary care alongside access to the latest cutting-edge facilities for pets and their owners throughout the West Sussex region.
The donation from Taylor Wimpey has been dedicated to the overall running costs of the clinic.

We helped provide an exclusive Christmas Grotto experience
Taylor Wimpey South Thames provided a £480 donation to the The Budding Foundation dedicated to funding an exclusive two day experience for beneficiaries at the Mid Sussex charity, Kangaroos Learning Disability Charity.The Budding Foundation welcomed 30 children from Kangaroos to the Tates of Sussex South Downs Garden Centre’s Christmas Grotto for an exclusive and unforgettable day with Santa.
The Kangaroos Learning Disability Charity visited the South Downs Christmas Grotto on Sunday 7th and Saturday 13th December for their exclusive visit.
Clive Gravett, Founder and Trustee of The Budding Foundation, said: “The Budding Foundation supports young people and families, especially those who have suffered social deprivation, trauma or disability.
“We’re extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for partnering with us this festive season and providing this donation. The support from Taylor Wimpey for the third consecutive year has touched many of the children from Kangaroos.”

Taylor Wimpey welcomes Hassocks pupils to its Friars Oak development for a careers day
For the second consecutive year, Year 10 students from Hazelwick School were invited to participate in a morning workshop to explore a variety of career opportunities within the construction industry.Following last year’s successful visit to Ockley Park, this year’s event was hosted by the team at Friars Oak.
Students were given the opportunity to hear from award winning Senior Site Manager, Sean Macleod; Lucy Brogan, Sales Adviser and Charlene Francis, Quantity Surveyor.
The housebuilder also arranged a tour of the development giving students the chance to take on the role of the site team by touring a completed home and carrying out checks on a drainage visual, ahead of NHBC inspection.
Emma Wakelin, School Administrator at Hazelwick School, said: “Our students had another brilliant morning with Taylor Wimpey. All students had the chance to gear up in the PPE provided by Taylor Wimpey and were also given tape measures to really help them immerse themselves in the on-site experience.
