Pupils at a Swindon school were encouraged to create a wildflower garden thanks to a donation from our Bristol team.
Dozens of seed bombs, shaped like little houses which contain wildflower seeds, have been donated to South Marston CE Primary School to help the pupils create a new nature area at the school.
Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said: “Gardening provides so many positives in a person’s life, including nurturing a love of nature, so we wanted to support pupils at South Marston Primary School by encouraging them to create their own wildflower garden through this donation. Hopefully, it will foster a real joy for being outside, connecting with nature and a true love of gardening.”
Marianne Rawlins, Eco – Council Lead at South Marston CE Primary School, said: “We are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey Bristol for donating these seed houses. The children were delighted with them, but more importantly, you don’t need to have any gardening experience to plant them, which is perfect for our young pupils. We are all now looking forward to seeing the seeds take root, a lovely wildflower garden flourish and spotting the insects and creatures that will hopefully visit and benefit from our new nature area.”
We donated more than 70 seed houses to the school, in Old Vicarage Lane.
Rob added: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build, especially local schoolchildren.”
We support South Marston summer fete
The Woodlands consortium, which consists of housebuilders Taylor Wimpey Bristol and Vistry Group, as well as specialist consultants Ward Williams and Breheny, have supported this year's South Marston summer fete with a combined donation of £1,000. This year’s fete was held on Saturday 26th July, allowing the community in and around South Marston to come together and enjoy a range of activities, topped off with an evening party in the park. The donation from the consortium group helped with running costs of the event. Rob Curry, Sales & Marketing Manager at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said: "We are delighted to have sponsored this year’s Summer Fete in South Marston with the help of our consortium partners. The fete is a brilliant event that provides the perfect opportunity for the entire community to come together.”Set to launch later this year, Taylor Wimpey at Woodlands will provide a mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes which will be part of the larger emerging community at Swindon’s New Eastern Villages.
