Couple switch up town life for the Dorset countryside at Canford Vale
Maria Capua (34), an Investment Banking Analyst, and her partner Filipe Figueira Da Silva (28), a Butcher, moved into their new Taylor Wimpey home in June 2024.
Not wanting to spend further time and money refurbishing an older property, Maria opted to purchase a new-build home due to its convenience. Having previously rented a two bedroom flat in Bournemouth Town Centre, Maria wanted to move to a quieter area and Canford Vale suited this perfectly. She said: “I have friends who bought a property in a development nearby and we’d seen a lot of publicity around Taylor Wimpey, so we were very interested.”
Maria’s chosen house type was the three bedroom Brambleford, which features an open plan ground floor area with a spacious living room and hallway. The kitchen and dining area overlooks the garden and a separate utility/cloakroom makes for a handy area to keep the washing out of the way. “Our chosen plot is south-facing and it’s very important for us to have a sunny garden. On top of this, the property’s garden is a really nice size and I love how the kitchen connects with it. We have plenty of space with two parking spaces and three bedrooms.”
When asked what the sales process with Taylor Wimpey was like, Maria said: “The purchasing process was easier than I thought it would be. Everything went really smoothly and the sales team were always on top of everything we needed and wanted.”
Now that Filipe and Maria are settled into their new home, Maria shared the things they love most about their new property: “I love how quiet the area is and there’s a lot of green spaces. All the shops we need are just around the corner and we’re also a short drive away from our jobs. The area has very nice connections with Poole and Bournemouth Town Centre too.”

We supported High Mead Farm with new footpaths and vital life-saving equipment
We are pleased to announce our recent support for High Mead Farm in Ferndown, as we provided the farm with brand-new tarmac footpaths for visitors. These paths ensure safe and comfortable navigation of the farm in all weather conditions, enhancing accessibility and creating a more enjoyable experience for everyone.Constructed in partnership with Ford Civil, the new paths have replaced previously muddy and challenging terrain with smooth, reliable walkways. The transformation has already made a significant difference, particularly during recent wet and snowy weather.
In addition to the footpaths, we also donated a public access defibrillator from our sold-out site, Downland in Wantage, to High Mead Farm. This life-saving piece of equipment will ensure that the farm is better prepared when needing to respond to any medical emergencies.
Mark Gregory, Director at High Mead Farm, said: “We are thrilled with our brand-new tarmac path, which now winds its way around the farm. We’re still in awe of this amazing donation, which has truly transformed how we navigate the farm and it’s all thanks to Taylor Wimpey and Ford Civil for making it happen. The impact has been especially noticeable in our Day Room which stays much cleaner and less muddy now that everyone is using the path. We couldn’t be more grateful.”
Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “We are delighted to support High Mead Farm through these initiatives. The farm is a fantastic resource for the local community, and we are thrilled to see how the new footpaths and defibrillator are making a positive difference. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact of our efforts and to know we’ve contributed to the safety and enjoyment of visitors to the farm.”
High Mead Farm is well-known for its work with adults with additional needs, offering therapeutic activities and a welcoming environment. The farm’s team and visitors are already enjoying the benefits of these enhancements, which have significantly improved access and safety for all.
The initiative reflects our dedication to supporting local communities close to our developments, including Canford Vale.
