Retiree returns to Warsash with a new Taylor Wimpey home
Sylvia Fisher, now retired, wanted to return to Warsash after previously living in the area, and made the move from Portsmouth in June after purchasing her new Taylor Wimpey home.
Her choice to purchase a new build home stemmed from the fact that it didn't have a sales chain, making the purchasing process easier.
After visiting a few developments in the area, Sylvia was sold on Taylor Wimpey after going to Bramley Park and seeing how spacious the bedrooms are. “In a lot of other homes you don’t even have space for a wardrobe. The Taylor Wimpey sales team were also first class and ready to help in any way.”
Sylvia’s first impression of Bramley Park was that it isn’t a large development, which is to her liking, and there are plenty of bus stops nearby for getting around. She said: “I like how it’s quite a central location if you’re looking to travel, I can easily catch the bus to Southampton.”
Situated between Locks Heath and Warsash, Bramley Park is close to Locks Heath District Centre for everyday essentials and Holly Hill Woodland Park and the River Hamble for a stroll or scenic jogging route.
The development is designed to maximise its green space and to ensure it blends in well with the existing village. Once completed, it will feature public open space to create a natural meeting point for residents as well as measures to protect the local wildlife and land such as ecological buffers around the perimeter, bat and bird boxes, a sensitive lighting scheme for nocturnal animals, and diverse, natural habitats for birds.
Wanting to purchase a detached home, Sylvia chose the Byford house type, a three-bedroom home with an open plan kitchen featuring double doors leading out into the garden, perfect for a summer barbeque. The spacious home features a cloakroom and storage cupboard for extra handy storage space, two double bedrooms, and a third upstairs room for added flexibility.
When asked what she likes most about her new home, Sylvia said: “I really like the Byford and love how everything in this home is brand new. The best thing is that you can come downstairs in the morning and open the doors into the garden, which is South-facing in my home.”

We Give a Boost to Local Scout Groups
We have made a donation to two scout groups local to Bramley Park. The Fareham District Scout Band and the 1st Warsash Sea Scout Group each received £250 as part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community surrounding our developments. Our £250 donation towards the 1st Warsash Sea Scout Group went to new equipment so that the cubs and scouts in the area can continue enjoying fun water activities during the summer.
Melissa Johnson, Scout Group Leader at 1st Warsash Sea Scouts, said: “All of the children, leaders and parents at 1st Warsash Sea Scouts would like to say a very big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation of £250 towards the purchase of our new paddle-board. We cannot wait to start using it for new adventures in 2025!”
The Fareham District Scout Band is a traditional marching band which is available to hire in the community and also leads local celebrations for national events, such as Remembrance Day.
The band is currently fundraising for new bugles to replace the existing ones which were purchased second-hand when the band first formed in 1981. Our donation will go towards the new bugles which will ensure that the players’ full potential can be heard and the band can continue being an integral part of the community and local area.
Carol Dawson, a Volunteer Fundraiser at The Fareham District Scout Band, said: “The Fareham District Scout Band are delighted to have received £250 towards our bugle replacement project. Our bugle section is currently playing bugles which are all well over 40 years old and are worn out. In addition to the band leading many parades and playing at community events, our buglers also provide the Last Post Remembrance at Netley where there are over 650 Commonwealth War Graves.”
Roz Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "We are delighted to donate towards the fundraising efforts of these two local scout groups to enable them to continue providing valuable life experiences, skills and memories for the young people within the area."
