    Proud of the community vote

    As part of our national Proud campaign, we’re inviting residents from Borehamwood to have their say on which local cause is deserving of a helping hand. We’ll be listening to the feedback from the local communities in which we build our homes and will be offering our support to a local group or charitable organisation.

    Local residents are invited to vote for one of two organisation to receive a £1000 donation. The nominated groups are Elstree Tennis Club and Herts Young Homeless. Elstree Tennis Club, based on Aldenham Road, has been running for over 30 years and provides a full programme of events, both social and tennis related, to members of all ages. Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity which was established in 1998 and is dedicated to  supporting the young homeless of Borehamwood and other areas of Hertfordshire. The charity primarily helps 16 to 24 year olds who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness through free support services as well as emergency accommodation. They also work with children as young as 10 who are dealing with family conflict and adults who have mental ill health and housing issues.

    Members of the local community are entitled to one vote per person and can place their vote for the cause they would most like to see receive a donation by emailing their preference to ProudBorehamwood@taylorwimpey-pr.co.uk. Votes will need to be received by midnight on Sunday 24th February and only one vote per person will be counted. The winner will be announced on Monday 4th March and will be awarded a £1,000 donation from Taylor Wimpey.
