Making the move to Barham Meadows

Dan (33) and Laura (35) have made the move to Barham to enjoy their forever family home.

After living in Purdis Farm, Ipswich, Dan and Laura decided to move their family to the Barham Meadows development. Dan said: “We were really craving a bit more of a semi-rural, countryside lifestyle to raise our son, but we couldn't compromise on travel times since we both need to commute for work. Barham ticked both of our boxes perfectly.

“We fell in love with the location of Barham Meadows. It gives you that lovely, scenic village feel without making you feel like you're completely isolated in the middle of nowhere. Our first impression was just how clean, spacious, and welcoming the whole site looked; it felt like a safe, peaceful place to raise our family. We especially liked how the varying ground levels gave the site a lot more character than you tend to find at other local developments.”

Dan and Laura moved into the Raynford housetype, a four-bedroom, double-fronted home ideal for families. Laura told us: “The Raynford completely won us over. We absolutely fell in love with the open-plan kitchen, dining and family room area. Between the large windows looking straight out over the garden and the incredibly bright and airy hallway and landing, the house has a wonderful flow that helps us feel connected as a family wherever we are. Plus, the generous amount of space in the main bedroom was a huge selling point for us.

“It’s so bright, modern, and cosy. We especially loved the energy-efficient features, which gave us real peace of mind that we were future-proofing our home. The build quality is fantastic, and it was lovely being able to unpack and instantly feel like we were in our own family home from day one.”

Dan added: “We definitely spend the most time in the open-plan kitchen and family room. Those big windows looking onto the garden make it such a bright, social space. It’s ideal for our daily routine, like keeping an eye on our son while he plays, but it’s also fantastic for entertaining. It’s such a sociable area that it’s become our go-to for hosting extended family gatherings, and it handles the extra company with ease.”

Settling in to their new home

The family is thoroughly enjoying life at Barham Meadows and settling into their new home. Laura told us: “We are absolutely loving it here. The Raynford has been amazing; it offers such a fresh, modern way of living, particularly with the bright, airy hallway and the incredibly sociable open-plan kitchen, which has become the heart of our home. As for Barham Meadows, it’s beautiful. We get that lovely village feel with a quiet community vibe already starting to build. Having so many country walks right on our doorstep is brilliant for weekend strolls, and we couldn't have asked for a better place for our family to put down roots.”

Dan added: “The location is incredibly convenient for us. One of our main priorities was wanting somewhere close to schools, and the setup here means we are within walking distance for our son’s entire school life - a massive win for us. For work, we commute to Martlesham and Woolpit, and having such quick, easy access straight onto the A14 has made both of our daily commutes a breeze. It means we get to spend less time in traffic and more time enjoying peaceful village life. Plus, having the local Co-op nearby is a brilliant bonus for day-to-day family life.”
