Upsizers make room for the family in their new Taylor Wimpey home
Stephanie, who works in education, and her husband Jed, who works in the finance sector, were looking to upsize from their two-bedroom home in Whiteley, to make more space for their family.

Despite initially looking into purchasing a second-hand home, the couple decided that a new-build was the right choice for them. Stephanie said: “The prices for second-hand and new-build homes are similar, but second-hand homes need so much work done to them - so would have cost a lot more for us in the long run. We also like eco-friendly homes and new-builds often come with solar panels, better insulation and triple-glazed windows.”
Wanting to stay within the local area, Stephanie and Jed looked at Woodlands Chase after friends recommended Taylor Wimpey based on prior experience. After exploring Woodlands Chase and a few other developments in the area, the couple ultimately decided to go with Taylor Wimpey after preferring the layout of its homes.
Stephanie and Jed chose the three-bedroom Eynsford house type for their new family home. The Eynsford features an open plan kitchen/diner with double doors leading to the rear garden, and upstairs has two double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite, and a single bedroom.
“We were specific about what we wanted; a kitchen big enough for an island and positioned at the back of the house was super important for socialising, but also we wanted a utility room and an en-suite - this home came with all of these. Plus the upstairs space is well distributed compared to other homes.”
With a previous home to sell, Stephanie and Jed bought their Taylor Wimpey home using our Easymover scheme. With this scheme, we help buyers manage the sale of their existing home using our marketing and negotiating skills to make the sales process as simple as possible by removing the pressure to find a buyer. Estate agent fees are covered*, saving both money and time.
Stephanie said: “The whole purchasing process with Taylor Wimpey was so simple and easy, the communication was brilliant and everyone in the office was very helpful. The site team were always happy to help with anything and all have been really friendly. Even when things got tight because of Christmas closure, they were calm, helped solve any queries and liaised really well with our solicitors.”
The family moved into Woodlands Chase in December 2025 and have since been enjoying the local area and their new home. Stephanie said: “The area has great facilities and shops, and we also like the amount of walking routes and woodland trails nearby. It also has great motorway links which helps with work. It’s been nice to see the development coming together and our neighbours have also started to move in too.
“We love our new home and making it our own, we are still decorating rooms which is the fun part of moving home. It’s just so nice to have everything new and fresh and to be able to work with a blank canvas and make it our own. We would definitely recommend Taylor Wimpey to other home buyers - check out their local development and have a chat with the sales team about all of the incentives. We have only had a positive experience with them and when we decide to move again, we will look at Taylor Wimpey for sure.”
