Supporting No Mow May

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we're supporting 'No Mow May', an annual initiative by British conservation charity Plantlife which encourages people to put away their lawnmowers and let their grass grow throughout the month of May.

Helping nature to thrive

Throughout May, we’ll be letting green spaces and wildflowers at many of our developments grow naturally to encourage wildlife and nature to thrive. Longer grass brings many other benefits too, including tackling pollution and helping to lock carbon away underground.

Why is this important?

According to Plantlife, we’ve lost 97% of flower rich meadows since the 1970’s which means that vital food sources for pollinators are at risk of disappearing. Allowing green spaces to grow gives plants a chance to thrive.

Get involved

It couldn’t be easier to take part in #NoMowMay. All you have to do is put your lawnmower away for a month and give plants a chance to grow.

Plantlife estimates there are over 23 million gardens in the UK and if we all play a part in supporting this initiative we can help to deliver positive benefits for nature, our communities and the climate.

If you’re taking part in #NoMowMay, make sure to share your progress on Twitter using the hashtag.
