Our North East team brings Christmas joy to local children’s charity
Team members in our North East team have recently donated over 100 toys and gifts to Sunderland based children’s charity, Love, Amelia. The donation is to support the charity’s drive to make sure all children in the area receive a gift this Christmas.
Spreading Christmas cheer
Members of our North East team visited the charity’s headquarters in Sunderland to drop off the donations, and also contributed a further £500 to the charity, so that they can buy additional gifts for children in the community.
Love, Amelia is a baby bank charity, which provides new and excellent quality preloved items and equipment to children from birth to 16 years old, who are experiencing poverty and hardship throughout Tyne & Wear and County Durham. Since the charity’s launch in 2019, they have distributed over 12,000 bundles to families in the community.
Sarah Whittingham, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North East, said: “Christmas is all about giving back to the community, so we wanted to be able to help those in need at this time of year. Our staff, from different departments, personally donated over 100 toys and gifts to Love, Amelia. The generosity of our dedicated team is what makes this effort so special, and we hope these contributions bring lots of joy to many families and children this Christmas.”
Shannon Burnside, Business Support Officer at Love, Amelia, said: “We are truly grateful for the incredible generosity displayed by Taylor Wimpey North East. Their donation of over 100 gifts and toys will bring joy and warmth to the children we serve at Love, Amelia. The commitment and compassion shown by their team not only extends to the tangible gifts but also to a heartfelt contribution of £500, empowering us to acquire even more toys for those in need. This collaboration exemplifies the power of community, proving that when we come together, we can create a brighter, more hopeful future for the children we support. We are profoundly grateful for their dedication to spreading love and happiness during this festive season.”
This donation reflects our dedication to building more than just homes; it’s about building communities, supporting local initiatives, and making a difference where it matters most.
We currently have two developments in the Tyne & Wear area, Burdon Fields in the coastal village of Ryhope and Herrington View, a new community on the edge of Herrington Country Park.
