Giving the schools library a refresh
Last year, the school reached out to us hoping for a helping hand to raise £1,000 for new books. When we offered to donate the full amount, the school was able to secure an additional £600 worth of free books from Usborne’s Community Book Pledge to refresh the school library.
Claire Scott is an Independent Partner for Usborne and has worked closely with Wynyard C of E Primary School. She explained: “The school opened their fantastic new library back in 2019; however this was sadly closed a few months later due to the pandemic. With over 400 children now attending the school, they will benefit hugely from such an extensive range of books and be able to relax in the library once again.”
Lauren Angus, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, says: “As soon as we heard that a local school wanted to take part in the Usborne initiative, we knew we had to get involved. Our hope is that every student at Wynyard C of E Primary School will now be able to find that book which sparks their imagination and kick starts a lifelong passion for reading.”
