Providing ongoing support to Coventry and Warwickshire Mind for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024
This Mental Health Awareness Week, we funded vital mental health support for people in Coventry and Warwickshire.
For the second year running, Taylor Wimpey Midlands donated £1,000 to Coventry and Warwickshire Mind for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 to support its The Environment and Me (TEaM) service.
TEaM is an ecotherapy-based project delivered in partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, which aims to enhance mental health and wellbeing through outdoor activities such as planting, growing and harvesting, nature walks, and seasonal crafts.
This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme was movement, with the aim of encouraging people to get active and exercise more or take part in outdoor activities.
Read on for more information about the mental health benefits of outdoor time and the outdoor spaces and facilities available at our Coventry and Warwickshire developments.
"We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for supporting us again this year with their generous donation to our TEaM service. We rely on donations such as these to enable us to continue providing our programme of mental health-boosting outdoor activities to those who need them the most."

Enjoying the outdoors at our Warwickshire developments
Coventry and Warwickshire Mind recommends starting small when it comes to spending more time outdoors when you’re unwell or feeling down; even small amounts of time outdoors can boost your mood and benefit your mental health.
We recognise the importance of being able to access nature close to home and try to integrate outdoor activities and green spaces into our developments where possible.
At our Upper Lighthorne development, Valiant Fields, residents are surrounded by the Warwickshire countryside and will be able to enjoy scenic views while walking, running or cycling on footpaths around lakes. There will also be allotments for the green-fingered to grow fresh fruit and vegetables, while its play parks and central public open space offer a place for parents to meet while their children play.
Our Hatton development, Union View, will not only feature a network of walking and cycling paths once completed, but it's also a short distance from Hatton Country World, which offers plenty of fun activities and a fantastic day out with the family. Registered homeowners of Union View are also eligible for a £600 cycle voucher which can be put towards a bike, safety bike equipment and accessories to further encourage residents to stay active and enjoy the countryside around them while also opting for a more sustainable mode of transport.
Featuring new areas of public open space for socialising and spending time outdoors, Cherrywood Gardens in Coventry is also just across the road from Holbrook's park. Residents can also benefit from easy access to local sports and community clubs for further socialising and fun activities - offering plenty of opportunities to stay active while also socialising with other Coventry residents.
If you feel you could benefit from more structured outdoor therapy, we recommend that you get in touch with your local Mind. People living in Coventry and Warwickshire can find out more about accessing local services here.
