Fuelling the Lighthouse Charity's Make it Visible campaign with van donation

Strengthening our partnership with the Lighthouse Charity and its #MakeItVisible campaign, we have donated a new van to help improve access to mental health and wellbeing support for construction workers in the UK.

Making vital support more visible

The Lighthouse Charity's #MakeItVisible team visits construction sites to share their lived experiences, helping to reduce the stigma of starting a conversation and creating a safe space for people to talk.

The new van is a much needed addition to the charity’s fleet of tour vehicles, enabling them to expand its outreach even further.

To mark our donation, we welcomed the #MakeItVisible team to our Bovingdon Grange development to deliver a talk to our site team.

Making a real difference

The #MakeItVisible campaign is making a positive difference up and down the country.

So far this year, Lighthouse has visited 506 construction sites across the UK and Ireland and spoken to 27,000 workers to raise awareness of its free and confidential 24/7 holistic support.

During these visits the #MakeItVisible team has given immediate support to 40 workers who expressed suicidal thoughts, and encouraged others to take the first step to seeking help when they are struggling.

As proud signatories to Lighthouse’s Building Mental Health Charter, we have been working closely with the charity to provide mental health training for our employees. We hope that the van we have donated will enable the charity to reach even more people and help to address the wellbeing challenges facing the construction industry.

Lighthouse is one of the many national charity partners that we are supporting. Further information is available here.
